It’s beautiful inside and out. Finding housing for people who have been independent most of their lives and enjoyed their own personal homes is a challenge. The Terraces has met that challenge. It’s grounds are gorgeous including the interior hidden gardens and fountains. The hallways are wide and furnished with beautiful art, the dining rooms and pools and work out facilities are amazing and first class. The assisted care where my mom has a lovely, sunny one bedroom is perfect for her. She had to downsize from a 4000 Sq foot home. So it was quite an adjustment. But it’s been great to have less things and to enjoy getting out of the small apartment and use the different communal libraries and living spaces. The workers do their best to care for my mom but in order for her to feel like she’s taken care of to stay clean and moved to her appointments and dining she has one on one private care. That level of care is not available with the employee staff. The staff don’t always tell her what medications she is taking and they have to be reminded to do that. So far no mistakes have happened but people make mistakes and getting wrong medications is preventable. Over all this a 4+ facility.

Beautiful facility & superior Physical & Occupational therapy support. Thank you to OT & PT Department. Nursing care & nursing assistance care is suspect. Very rough, no patience, no sympathy, no support, no compassion. Be watchful of 2nd floor nurse, who forced pills w/out compassion. Nursing attendants do not have compassion for their elderly patients. I watched this daily for weeks & complained but nothing improved. My parent was left alone & fell out of bed twice in their care. They did not lower bed at night twice. Very upsetting.
We have been very happy with the care at Renaissance for our Mom. Most of the staff are friendly, compassionate and attentive to her needs. Dr Liu listened to our concerns and addressed them in a big way getting our Mom back to herself. He is a kind, compassionate and caring person. Were there some issues? Yes but we learned if we asked or talked to the staff they were resolved. Mom also had to learn to ask when she needed something. Keep in close contact with staff. The courtyards are beautiful for walks or just sitting outside.
Do not believe that because you're paying a premium to reside here that you will receive quality care. Just the opposite. I have an elderly male relative that lived in the skilled nursing section of this facility for 3 months. Two severe falls, one resulting in an ER visit without family notification (even though a POA is on file). Took him to the ER in his underwear! He suffered multiple abrasions to his legs because no one came to check on him at all, necessitating him to crawl across the floor to signal for help. Multiple personal items went missing for days. Large sign in room states "Family does laundry," but staff still decided to wash his personal effects and NOT return them. Items mysteriously returned after multiple days. Spent an entire afternoon sewing name labels into everything to prevent this from happening again. Staff does not regularly check on residents. This relative's health was rapidly declining until we moved him to a different facility. He's made great improvements since leaving Renaissance at The Terraces, so obviously this was NOT a conducive environment for healthy living for this senior citizen. Pretty lobby and foyer, but that's as far as it goes. Rooms are blandly decorated. Care provided is sub-par, and it's unacceptable that staff should dismiss a trip to the ER without notifying family, which includes his POA. They claimed they weren't required to - which is false. Look elsewhere if you're considering this facility for an elderly family member. Exorbitant cost and insufficient care provided.
I was trying to hold off on my review until my mom left but issues here are not getting resolved 7 days without a working phone in the room she weeks isolated from friends and family not being able to communicate with her. Staff have been putting tickets in every day with no resolve I had to call admin. The nurses are running about 3 hours behind in getting her meds to her. Hallways are noisy from the floor staff not the relaxing experience we were expecting
