I wish there was a zero star to rate. If you cherish your loved ones, this is not the place. They are all happy to lure you in with positivity and welcoming gestures. About 3 weeks after that expect to get yelled at, staff walking into your apartment without consent. The food they offer is disgusting. In a retirement home that offers one meal a day I don’t believe soup and salad should be the main course. Other residents that need more care are left there to wither away. Feces in the hallway, bugs in the apt. As the staff in office chat all day long. If you try to help other residents they belittle you. The bus that takes you shopping is a joke. No human should be treated this way. They just want to rent as many units out as they can for the money, not what is best for the “retirement” residents. When I called the office staff yelled and screamed and hung up telling me they don’t have to talk to me. Beware of this place! Edit: Porthaven Manor replied…. And wow they mentioned my aunts name personally. We tried calling and they yelled and screamed and hung up. I would recommend removing a previous residents name from the review. No one but an attorney will be calling now.

Do not rent here or have any member of your family live here. You will definately regret it. The turnover of units is very high. Nobody stays. Lease violations are not handled correctly by management. An antagonistic behavior exhibited by staff. Maintenance constantly in your apartment for no reason day and night. EMT and fireman with keys and a no knock philosophy.Fire doors with an alarm inproperly installed. No water leaks but tenant in 342 filed a complaint anyway. Employees sleeping in the reading room. Bed bugs! Lights out no washers or dryers for 2 weeks. The noisy fan comes on with the lights they refused to fix until the tenant upstairs complained.File a complaint and you are labled a nut! UPDATE Joan Bliss the manager came to my apartment today Friday to tell me quote "if you don't stop the accusations and nonsense about that picture i am calling the police and having you taken out of here in hadcuffs." VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
I love my apartment. The maintenance is very good. having a beautician here once a week is wonderful. the interior and outside grounds are kept neat and clean. The activities are extremely good. There is something for everybody to enjoy. The only drawback is with the manager. I had a serious problem with her that has now been resolved. She is very nice to me now. I have had a few conversations with some other tenants who have told me of her going off in a verbal rampage similar to what she did to me. That is elder abuse in my opinion.
Porthaven is a very nice place. The staff is friendly, the other residents are so welcoming. I am slowly adjusting to being here. The grounds and apartments are beautiful.
After losing my second husband in August 2020 and my first husband in October 2020 who I was still good friends with, I lost a great deal of weight and got down to 105 pounds. My strength and energy were failing and I and my sister decided that I needed to be in a safe environment rather than live alone out on a country road. So we began the process of finding an appropriate location as well as an economically feasible one. That’s when we found Porthaven Manor. I love the beautiful grounds at a perfect location and I greatly enjoy the privacy as well as the community. I’ve made many good friends here and I’m sure these friendships will last a lifetime. The staff is very helpful and more than eager to make residents lives easier and happier. I just moved into a larger apartment and they made the experience stress-free and simple by giving me time to move at my own pace. It’s really helped me as I am physically not able to do too much, too quickly. My cat and I are enjoying the extra space as well as the large balcony we have. Now, he can go outside with me without being in a harness, in a carrier or otherwise restrained and he’s loving it! I think we both have a long and exciting future at Porthaven Manor. Thanks, Joan, Brenda, Lisa, Ashley, Barry, Lukas and the Ability Plus girls for keeping us happy, clean and cared for!
