I will say, the front desk secretary is nice and the place is generally clean. While my mother was here, it changed hands (mgmt) and it was very evident. When she showed up, she had a fabulous meal and everyone was very nice. By the time she left, nothing from the kitchen was edible. She came for PT, but couldn't get it due to BP issues. They refused to help and just left my Mom, ignored her calls and cries for help. Basically, if you are doing well enough to administer your own PT to yourself, this place is decent (with bad food). If you are worse off, good luck to you as there isn't much else around :(

My dad has been a resident at Port Healthcare for a year now, and I am grateful every day for the care he receives. Initially his transition was difficult for all of us, however, he is settled and the staff could not be better to him. They listen to his needs and respond in a timely manner. Their reception when we visit could not be warmer or kinder. Their thoughtfulness relative to resident-centered medical care, excellent meal quality, activities, soclializing and special events is outstanding. Port is a special place and we commend the administration for its commitment to high quality care for older adults. Thank you for all you do!
From the moment you walk through the door until you leave, treated with kindness and respect. Felt so welcomed!! Absolutely the best!! We had received the best care for my mother in law. We went in through the rehab then moved her into long term care. The staff is amazing they were there for all of her needs. As a family we also received all kinds of support. My father in law would go every day to visit his wife and they would always watch out for him too. The compassion Port has for everyone is amazing. True caretakers. The facility is also beautiful and immaculate clean also. 5-stars plus. We would highly recommend for anyone’s loved ones.
I have worked with Whittier for 18 years and Port has been my facility for the last 7 years of my career and I could not ask for a better place to work! Not only can I attest as an employee, but I can also vouch as a family member with a loved one here. My grandfather was here and he received the best care we could of asked for. We are a team-from nursing, to housekeeping, dietary, activities, maintenance etc, we work together to ensure our residents receive the highest standard of care.
My experience at Port Healthcare was unpleasant and unhelpful. I was transferred there from a more intensive rehab hospital. The two facilities had poor communication. My dilemma was dismissed, my care inadequate, and my discharge inappropriate.
