Highly recommend to anyone who is seeking long-term, respite, rehabilitation services, or SNF care. I am a nurse and have been for over 30 years. I started my career working in a nursing home for 15 years. My father and mother have benefited from the wonderful, loving care that they received from this facility and their compassionate staff and management. I want to send a special shout out to the Physical therapy team especially Beth, Michelle, and Tommy. The nursing team is fortunate to have Philesha and Angie. Also, Ms. B, the hair stylist was such a blessing and good company for my Mom.
They don’t take care of you, if you’re trying to send a family member here DO NOT DO IT! Especially is that cannot advocate for themselves. Won’t wake you up in the night for your medicine, “it’s the nurses discretion” place is run by a complete (sorry to say) clueless person. Needs to be shut down and I feel extremely bad for the people in there that they are killing every day. They won’t turn the people in the bed, won’t feed them if they say there hungry at night. Nursing assistants sleep in the hallways on the weekends. Horrible place. My family member been there 10 days haven’t even see a doctor and been in a broken bed since day one. Charge nurses don’t know how to do NOTHING they never put in orders. This place mentally abuses and causes even more stress than being on the street. -10 stars if I could.
My grandmother was at Pontchartrain Health Care for PT/OT and we had a wonderful experience. The staff and administration were very helpful and kind. The therapy department is amazing! Tommy, Michelle, Emily, and Beth are some of the best therapist. Adriona Taylor, NPC the in house nurse practitioner was available for all questions or concerns. My grandmother had an awful pressure ulcer acquired at another facility and Heather the wound care nurse and Med Centris their in house wound care team did a great job healing her wound. I would recommend this facility for anyone looking for these services for themselves or a family member.
My dad is there for physical therapy. He has been in the same clothes for 5 days now, they put a diaper on him when he is continent of bowels. He just needs assistance to get to the bathroom. But they are too damn lazy to get him up. It’s degrading him and it is a decline in his care. Nobody knows what’s going on. The place looks like it has been there since before Jesus. The ceiling tiles are falling, the wall next to his bed has stuff smeared on it, and the beds have no side rails which is a safety concern. Nobody ever knows what is going on. I feel for the residents who live there. This place sucks. Do NOT send your family member here short or long term if you care what happens to them. As a nurse I am appalled at the way my father has been mistreated. Staff being nice to him doesn’t outweigh the physical neglect he has endured. This place needs to be shut down. This place is Hell on earth. Only reason it got 1 star was because I had to rate it before I could give a review. This was the nice me writing this.
