Beautiful building and grounds from the outside. Total disappointment on the inside. Outdated decor and furnishings. Zero security. You press a button and get buzzed in. Very rarely is someone at the front desk after 5pm. One of the smallest elevators I've seen which is totally insufficient for more than 2 people and close to impossible for wheelchair-bound individuals. Understaffed, terrible smell of urine in hallways. Residents are herded together in front of a tv in a common area if they are on the long term care floor. Residents are only given showers ONCE a week and many of these people are incontinent!!! Blasphemous! Staff were pleasant but this place needs an overhaul and quickly. I question how the owners of this place justify it's current state and poor performance standards. Our elderly population deserve better.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible Staff!!! They have no sensitivity. The social worker, DON, financial business office people are rude. My mother was there in the Summer. The room shrimp was in had no air conditioning!! I was told, it was broken. The refused to move her. I had a difficult time discharging her, because of their non-co-operation. Do yourself a favor, and don't even visit. I've seen bugs and rodent droppings. I thought it to their attention. The "cleaning person ", took 4 days to remove. I was constantly complaining. I also don't believe members of the KLAN, should work in these kinds of fields!
Excellent care facility, it's an atmosphere of calm! My family member says she loves being there because they always have something for you to do. Staff is readily available. Building is clean, the well kept area makes for our outdoor treat.
I couldn't share my comment on what someone else had posted, however, it was the lady who said they treated her Mom like a prisoner and she was admitted to Abington Hospital with dehydration. My Mom has been admitted to Abington Hospital three times in the past 3 months... Severe dehydration, "change in mental status", until I told them to stop administering "depression" medication to her. Most of this was due to change and "contraindications" of various medications you were given her. My mother was charged $10,000 for one month of care, even though she was hospitalized for at least 1/2 of that month. Courtney is a liar.
My mother was in the PW rehab center for about 6 weeks. While in general PW seemed somewhat understaffed re their aides and care team, the rehab specialists (Nancy, Marianne, Kat and Faith) were extraordinary, and Neva and Miss Wanda were very helpful from the nursing/aide team. The rehab team worked miracles with my mom, who was recovering from a stroke, and were great partners to me as I navigated this difficult terrain for the first time. I recommend highly for the rehab services.
