Our aunt was looked after so lovingly and felt very comfortable in the house in Cork. The staff are very friendly and try to make the residents' time as pleasant as possible. The premises are kept perfectly clean. Our family is very grateful that our aunt was able to spend the last months of her life in this positive and friendly environment. Many thanks to the team!

I am very happy to have moved to the Sonnenhaus with my mother. The care provided by the nursing staff is very warm; My questions were always answered very friendly and patiently, and I was always greeted very friendly at the ward. There was also a friendly atmosphere with the administration and management. I am very grateful that, despite the difficult Corona situation, it was always possible to visit my mother - of course in compliance with the regulations - or to go for a walk with her. It was clear that it was important to the home management that contacts and visits with relatives were possible and many efforts were made to make this possible. The previous home was simply closed even though the government didn't demand it. My mother suffered a lot because of it. So I was able to spend the last few months with my mother - although only 3 months - but all the more preciously, and I still have wonderful memories of the times we had together, which was made possible for us. My mother had dementia and it wasn't always easy, but even that was handled very professionally, friendly and nice. Thanks to all the nurses, administration and management. I would send a relative to the Sonnenhaus again at any time.
I had an emergency in December Looking for a nursing home for my mother in 2020. Mr. Weikmann made it possible. The care and support in the Sonnenhaus, Kork is excellent. The togetherness and family atmosphere gives the seniors a new home. The whole concept, whether hygiene, Corona or quality of life for the seniors, convinced us!!! The cooperation with the administration was open and problem-free.
ATTENTION: Based on the owner's response, my review will be updated. This is no longer current! This review was at least 3 years ago and does not in any way reflect the current conditions in this nursing home. I applied there about a year ago. My impression at the time wasn't particularly "good", if I can describe it that way. On the day of the application, there was a strong smell of that typical hospice smell. (If you can't imagine anything about it, perhaps the smell in the air was described as "dying old people" in a more figurative, albeit very "macabre" way.) When I was allowed to work my trial day, I was still a little looking forward to it, after all it was about my training. Luckily on this day the smell was neutral. What wasn't pleasant, however, was the entire rehearsal day. I ran with a very nice gentleman who had significant speech problems, but it was a plus point for the retirement home that it employs people like him. He was very friendly, showed me everything and seemed very competent. However, he either seemed uncomfortable taking me with him or just didn't want to. Because I spent the whole day in the lounge where I stared at the TV with the residents for around 3-4 hours. When I asked him several times if I could help in any way (the poor guy was clearly sweating through his T-shirt), the answer was always no. The nursing team also doesn't talk to each other very much, which made me a little suspicious. So I quickly asked him if it was always like that. His answer was, yes, all of you on the team would be very happy if it was quiet here. Well, the trial day was over, I should get in touch again in about 2 weeks, they said, we would know by then. No sooner said than done, when I called I was told that I had probably misunderstood something, but that wasn't a big deal, they would probably call me back as soon as possible (in about 1-2 weeks) because they still had to decide on a trainee. Another 2 weeks went by, I didn't contact you again and never got my documents back. In other words, if you want to train to become a geriatric nurse, maybe. Rather look for another company if you have the opportunity. The same applies to accommodating loved ones. If your parents or other relatives have to go to a nursing home, you might want to look for one. rather a different one, I wouldn't really recommend this one. Reply to the owner: Hello to the team at the Sonnenhaus nursing home! :) I am of course pleased that you have introduced a new concept for trial days. I also assume that everyday life is more varied, and I don't want to deny that. However, I could only give feedback on what I experienced that day or the weeks afterwards regarding my application and my documents. (And the day of my job interview.) Since I now live a good deal further away from Kork, unfortunately there won't be another meeting, but I wish you all the best for the future. :) Best regards and stay healthy. :) Inoyka.
This house is absolutely not recommended, there are no facilities for people with dementia. For residents with a tendency to run away, you can expect them to run into the street and the sisters won't even notice because it's not a closed house.
