I stopped into see my Aunt this morning at the Mystic Pendleton Rehabilitation Facility on Maritime Drive. They have a safe & secure check in system to keep the Patient safe from walking out and it also keeps Pendleton themselves safe from any problems that arise from the visitors. My aunt is on the second floor. Her room is very clean as is the whole place hallway, dining area, etc. The staff that I came across and the orderly in nurses, my aunt say are very good and kind and patient as it’s going to take my aunt a little bit to recover. My mom was in the Apple rehab 10 years ago in Westerly, Rhode Island, where I am from and I was very unhappy with the care. My mother received the cleanliness of the rooms besides some of the orderly and nurses who didn’t have too many patients for my mom who is suffering from a rear bone disease called coral basil, degenerative disease. This year paragraph is why I gave Pendleton rehabilitation in Mystic a 5 star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

On Sunday, I visited a girlfriend of mine who had recent back surgery. I was impressed by the quick security system they have in place, where they take a picture of you and you enter your information that gives you a visitor sticky badge. The patient rooms are nice and clean, and my girlfriend said she really likes the staff, even the physical therapists. There are also plenty of events to attend during the day for the patients to attend while staying there. Thank you for taking such great care of my girlfriend during her recovery, and for helping her get stronger so that she can go home soon.
Every interaction I had with a staff member here was very positive. They instilled confidence that they could handle my mother's medical condition. They were extremely knowledgeable and spent considerable time sharing their expertise and suggestions. Every interaction I saw between staff and my Mom was compassionate, calm and connected. Overall, I would say my family experienced the staff as competent and caring.
Front receptionist was extremely helpful. Went up to Pendleton to plan out an escape for a patient. The plan fell through when the kind medical staff just my brother checkout on his own. The kind nurse even used a wheel chair. Thank you for the visit.
The place is clean, the patients are not. The staff is friendly. It is apparently understaffed. My wife called me at home to tell me that her diaper needed to be changed, and she had been calling the nurses station for 30 minutes. No way to verify that ,as she is very sick. One thing I do know, is that they do not sponge wash their patients. This prevents infection and soothes the patient. I see a lot of staff on cell phones. Take the cell phones away and comfort the patients. Wash them and clean them. This is basic medical practice, that seems to be lost. I worked in Boston Hospitals for 30 years. I am appalled by this fact. How would a staff member feel after week without bathing. Shame! Father Dennis McCarthy of the Diocese of Newton, MA.
