My mother died at this nursing home, on the rehab side, after only being there for 36 hours. It took an act of God to get the notes released to an attorney. When I arrived, after being notified the my mother had passed, no one was available to help me. I got a little irraite with a staff member and she thought it was ok to tell me that "my mother died in 2.5 seconds". Very traumatizing!!!!

An elderly friend stayed at Pelican Pointe for three weeks on the rehab side. She did not feel comfortable there. They were not much help in rehab and the nurses were never available. The food was always cold and nasty. Never again.
Had a horrible experience at Pelican. My grandmother had a broken arm and was in the rehab wing with horrible care. They would never bath her had to ask multiple times for them to help her shower and they would argue that it wasn’t her day to shower. Could never get in touch with nursing staff, Dr, NP, or management staff would call multiple times a day and would never get a phone call back. My grandmother had horrible bruises all over her body and new ones everyday. It was a horrible situation. She even had to stay on the long term side for a couple of nights and that was even worse. The nursing staff came in while eating chips asking why we pressed the button for assistance. I would never again place a loved one at this facility!!!
I have never sat with a patient at a facility that has the most uncaring night staff as they have over here. No concideration for their patients. It’s 10:53 and the nurses are at the station bringing a ruckus with loud talking and laughter that we can hear it the room with the door closed. And earlier when The patient was in present of the nurse she needed the bathroom and I was assisting her I asked about the patient’s weakness and was told to use the wheelchair and never was asked if I needed assistance!! I give this place a thumbs down!! Not impressed at all! I’ve been taking care of the elderly for over 30 years and have never experienced this kind of behavior!!
Physical therapist taught me how to walk after a bought with multiple/myeloma. I’m living in an assisted living setting now and will go back to Pelican Pointe again if necessary. I spent three months there with a loving staff.
