My 99 year-old Mother has lived in the Memory Care section of the Farrington for over 4 years. Last Monday we had to begin hospice care for her. I am incredibly impressed with both the hospice staff and the Farrington staff in the continuing care they are providing to my Mom. The Farrington staff has been extremely compassionate and caring.

My mother, who is 99, had been living independently in Ft. Collins, Colorado but after a fall needed Assisted Living. The family searched a number of assisted living facilities in Colorado and Houston, where a number of family members live. The Farrington was the best. Marci, Glenda and the other staff there were extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding long term insurance, health and caregiver services that she would need. Costs were reasonable. The Farrington apartment that we selected had just been remodeled as had the common areas. Staff also went over and beyond usual efforts in assisting with the difficult logistics of moving Mom a 1000 miles during this COVID pandemic. All of the other staff are most friendly and supportive as well. The Farrington has the caregiver services and medical services that she needs. There are activities most days during the week including excellent dining in a bright and cheery atmosphere. Mom likes to visit the large garden and gazebo in the back where numerous bird and hummingbird feeders attract many of the more than 100 species that live or pass through Houston. The other residents have been particularly welcoming. They have helped make her feel a part of the community. The Farrington is located in a residential section of Houston with low traffic but with pharmacies, banks, restaurants, health care facilities within a few minutes drive. We take Mom out to eat at a wide variety restaurants on the weekends. She is very happy with the Farrington and we are too.
Jennifer Davenport is very professional and compassionate in all her interactions. I had the pleasure to meet with her and gained knowledge about the facility. I highly recommend The Farrington at Tanglewood based on the communication with Jennifer.
We moved our mom into the Farrington at Tanglewood in May after looking at several assisted living places in the Memorial area. Marci and the Farrington team were very responsive and so helpful in assisting us in making this decision since two of us siblings were not in Houston. We moved quickly because of a medical emergency -- Marci could not have been more helpful and accommodated our needs. The apartment is lovely and the community was so welcoming to our 94 year old mom. She is taking advantage of bridge, exercise class and bingo! And she is so much safer with caring eyes on her. My mother was at this facility for 5 1/2 months. I should have moved her out immediately. The day we moved her in, the rest of the staff (including night nurse) was not notified and she had moved in. She was completely neglected until I arrived the next day. The facility is understaffed and the "Director" stays in her office and is uninvolved and when questioned, rude. The food is horrible. I posted that we were unhappy and The Farrington in a local Caregiving FB Group and 7 families and 2 previous employees reached out to me to let me know all of the things that were going on and how unhappy their families are there. When we notified the facility that we were moving mom out, the response was fine because a letter evicting her had been sent the day before. My mom is precious! She, a sweet 82 year old woman, was evicted because I was asking hard questions and advocating for my mom and her quality of care. If you care about your loved one, please, please do not take them here. You will regret it!
