Heather and her team at Pathways in aging were just amazing in helping me navigate hospitals, insurance. doctor advice and options, and somehow getting my dad in a wonderful assisted living for the last few weeks of his life. Dad lived independently until the very last month so it was incredible Heather found a top notch assisted living on short notice. At every step of the way Heather and team provided me advice which was invaluable in making key decisions. Without their help I would have been lost! They did all the paper work for the long term care hundreds of pages helping to get approvals and assisted with all invoices. They would do just about anything to help my dad from visiting him at the end or helping him with doctor appointments. I highly recommend Pathways in aging. For the last four years, my sister and I have been working closely together with Pathways in Aging. Heather and the team have been instrumental in the care of our mother. In July 2020 amid the height of the pandemic, we needed to moved our mother from the West Coast to the DC area. Even before our mother settled in DC, Heather was there to make sure the travel and transition went smoothly. Knowing that we can rely on PIA as registered nurses and clinicians for our mother’s care gives us additional piece of mind. Heather and one of her team members Dana are in regular communication with us, particularly as we navigate the various needs of our mother. They work closely with Mom’s doctors to ensure comprehensive medical management and appropriate advocacy of her needs; they also ensure close coordination with Mom’s assisted living community. As and when needed, they visit Mom and go to doctor’s appointments with her. In June 2023, Dana was a critical part of enabling and getting Mom to her son’s wedding. Dana partnered with us well in advance to make sure the arrangements were clear and effective. We talked through numerous scenarios with her and devised the best plan based on Mom’s needs and care, which includes partnering with various third party vendors with whom Pathways had existing relationships. From start to finish, everything went smoothly. It is a pleasure to work with Pathways in Aging — always helpful, responsive, courteous, punctual and thoughtful in coming up with whatever made the most sense for Mom’s benefit and medical care. Heather and Dana are like an extension of our family and give us the guidance and insights we need to navigate the world of elder care. Thank you!
