The facility itself was spotless, and everyone involved in his care went above and beyond to ensure his well-being. I would highly recommend Parkside Villa to anyone in need of quality care

I was at Parkside Villa for rehab a few years ago after a knee replacement. At that time I received very good care and was impressed with the therapy department and the amount of direct care aides. I recommended Parkside to other people. Last year I was there again for rehab but things were different. The therapy department was the same and good as it was before, but the staffing of aides had changed. Unlike a few years ago they appeared to be working with skeleton staffing. I asked one of the aides who remembered me from being there before what had happened. I was told that during the pandemic the administration had to make do with less staff and they have kept it that way ever since. I could tell that the aides were overburdened with the number of patients they had to care for. There were long waits for the called light to be answered. No one would come in to help me get dressed and ready to go to therapy. I was there 2 1/2 weeks and was only given 2 showers. Many times there were no towels and washcloths in the bathroom. I think it's really a shame that the administration has chosen to cut corners with aide staffing. The quality of care has suffered as a result. Because of this I really can't recommend Parkside Villa anymore.
Not recommended and in my opinion neglectful. We couldn't get my dad out fast enough. My dad had a stroke mid-December 2024. This facility USED to be renowned in the area for its' care. However, something definitely has changed for the worse. After the stroke, my dad was minimally communicative if at all, had no use of his arms\hands, and wasn't supposed to walk or get up unattended. I went to visit him one evening and he was in his room, alone, lights out, in a wheelchair, with the TV remote in his hand. TV wasn't even on! He also had a feeding tube which needed to be regularly flushed. That seemed NOT to be done. The tube got clogged multiple times and he needed to be taken by ambulance to the hospital to have the tube flushed out. We also found on other visits that he defecated and had a rash in his most sensitive of areas. One instance he even had time to pull HIMSELF out of bed, somehow make his way to the bathroom where he tried to finish using the bathroom and clean himself (unsuccessfully), and make it back to bed before anyone noticed. We tried to setup a camera in his room so we could have some sense of being with him when we couldn't visit. This was stated as allowed per the printed guidelines as long as it viewed his room only. However we were told it needed to be approved first (which WASN'T stated in the guidelines). His medication was also not given timely which caused other issues. We know this because my mom was with him multiple days from open to close, and certain prescriptions were not given. We ultimately had to arrange for him to be put in home hospice where he was finally given the proper love, care, and dignity he deserved that he was not getting at this place. He passed 2 weeks after coming home. I'm SO glad he didn't suffer at this place for his final days.
The therapy my husband recieved after his back surgery was phenomenol! The therapists were professional, compassionate and so helpful! My husband was able to move and learned how to properly do so many daily activities! Thank you and I'd highly recommend the therapy group you have for anyone looking for rehab!
All about the money... not the care and communication is horrible. Try calling someone and theyre always in a meeting but can never call back... My loved ones hair was not brushed and matted, they never clipped her nails, she was actively getting ill and we couldn't get a nurse for a long time, we got there for a visit and her bed was stripped but not remade for another hour after we got there.
