My family and myself was esstatic about Parkerhouse. We could not stop talking about how much this facility was a 1000 times better than the one he was in before. We knew that God had truly answered our prayers when we went there and so the type of facility it was. There were no bad odors emanating from the building when you entered the doors or in the hallways. It was so very very clean and orderly. Even the residents were orderly. They were clean and well cared for. We stayed through the dinner hour and so how well they ate together in the dining hall. The staff was so pleasant and everyone looked like they were there for the people not for just a paycheck. We’ve been bragging on it since to all our family members. Even though my nephew lost his father, his mother and his sister all this year, we are so happy that he’s being cared for with proper care and compassion.

I have reviewed this place before and I feel the need to update my review. I see some positive reviews for Parkhouse and it's hard to believe. Maybe the various departments and floors have different standards. That is the only explanation. When I got off the elevator, I was overcome by the putrid Smells of urine feces, and an overall stale smell of neglect. I was there last month and the smell was similar. I asked several staff members about it and they said that they were some residence with a virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea. That did not prevent me from visiting, nor were their signs alerting people, no one was in quarantine that I could see. The quality of care was never good here, but it is what I would classify as grossly negligent. My family member's room is right across from the men's bathroom. A room that does not have a door or if there is one, it's never closed During the time I was there, I witnessed multiple men wheeling to the bathroom, I saw men with their pants down. We heard all of the sounds coming from the stalls. I took a peek in there, and there was feces all over and urine on the floor. I saw a man walking in there with their socks on stepping into urine. I heard multiple men mumbling to themselves about the conditions of the stalls. That's how close the females are to the men's room. These people are living like animals. There was a young woman who came into the room to ask my family member to sign A monthly financial release of some sort. I told her what I was told that there was supposedly a virus going around and that she shouldn't let other people touch the pen that my family member used to sign her form. Later on, I witnessed this young lady stopping a male resident on his way into the bathroom to sign his form right there and then. No concern about the hygiene factor, or the fact that he was going to relieve himself– just wanted to get her job done. PS, same pen. When I tell you that this particular floor reminds me of a of mental institution that has the cleanliness and living standards of a barn, I am not exaggerating. There are a few staff members who seem somewhat gracious and slightly professional, but overall, they are failing. Other past problems have been the theft of belongings, food spills on the floor for months, I once saw a rodent in the corridor on the first floor. I could go on and on, but I won't here - I do intend to share what I've seen with the proper agencies. I must give a shout out to the one person who acted decently during my time there yesterday. One of the CPAs. I am not the person who decides what goes on with this family member, but if I were, this would not be the where they'd be living - I use the term living loosely.
My grandma is at Parkhouse and my family and I went to visit and didn't know what to expect from the staff or how the facility was. However the staff was very polite they did not hound our family to leave after visiting her for many hours they were very greatfull for the visits with her. They did not seem like a typical nursing home that has to put on a good show but really they don't care about there patients, in our opinion with Parkhouse there are no shows they respond nicely they are caring they seem more like a family owned place. There is no shiney bells and whistles they seem to care more for there patients then bells and whistles so in our family that goes further then being none for your shiney bells and whistles. Thank you Parkhouse.
I had a very good experience. The nurses were so good to me and the aides took very good care of me. I especially liked Virginia and Amanda. Virginia was tops on my list. I also loved the physical therapy team. Jenn and Emily were so good to me. I wasn’t impressed with the bland food but I understood why it was so bland. In three weeks I only refused my dinner twice. I got replacements from the nursing staff easily. The rosemary chicken looked so bad, I didn’t even want to taste it. Thank you to everyone.
My mom’s been at Park House for about a month now after a pretty severe stroke. It’s been a confusing time for us, But in general, Parkhouse seems to be doing a good job of getting her into rehab and taking care of her. We’re staying on top of everyone, because they are very busy and have a lot of patience.
