My sister and her husband were in need of care quickly as where they were staying was no longer able to provide the appropriate level of care and asked them to move. We were trying to find both memory care and assisted living but wanted them to be together. We toured Parker Place and visited with Kaitlynn. She was very understanding and offered what we felt was an outstanding solution. We met with her on Wednesday and she enlisted the help of Jill and Kelly to have evaluations done and our application processed. On Friday we had my sister and brother in law in their new home at Parker Place. I can't thank Kaitlyn, Jill and Kelly enough for their quick work and their friendly attitude that made this possible! Follow-up 8/28/24: I wrote the above review and was very happy with Parker Place, but since then things have changed dramatically for the worse. On 7/6/24 my sister was assaulted by another resident in her own apartment. He struck her in the face knocking her down. She was transported via ambulance to a hospital and was diagnosed with a broken hip. She required surgery and is now recovering in a Skilled Nursing facility in a different city. On 7/8/24 her husband fell in their apartment at Parker Place. It's not known how long he laid on the floor, but when found he was transported via ambulance to the hospital. He was diagnosed with two broken ribs and two broken vertebrae in his back. He is now in a Nursing Home in another city and wheelchair bound. About 7/10/24 my sister informed the Director of Parker Place they would not be returning. This decision was based on advice of their medical team. I tried to determine when they had to vacate Parker Place. I received a voicemail stating that they had to be out and the apartment empty by the end of July. I moved them out and turned in all keys on 7/30/24. On 8/5/24 Parker Place originated an ACH payment for August rent in spite of the apartment being vacated. I'm now in the process of attempting to get the August rent returned as well as getting the out of pocket medical expenses my sister has incurred due to the attack in her Parker Place apartment.

I will say that after our mom was there for almost 18 months she was absolutely treated like family by the entire staff. She absolutely loved it there. As a private pay and spending nearly $90,000 she now is broke and would have to go on Medicaid. And, they say they will not have a room for her. We had to move her out. With her dementia this has been devastating for her! I am not blaming the staff, as I said, they were AMAZING!! So, why does this corporation treat their elderly like this!? They promised us when we put her here that this would not happen. Now we struggle with deep depression and frustration from her. Breaks our hearts!
Parker Place is a wonderful home for our family members that are not able to live alone any longer. The staff is friendly, caring and attentive to the needs of each individual. They provide fun activities every day and encourage everyone to participate! We would highly recommend Parker Place — where they treat you like family 😊
In helping move a very good friend to Parker Place her family and I couldn't be more pleased!Kaitlyn Freese (Community Relations Coordinator) Steven Deburg and Jennie Montes (Memory Care Coordinator ) go above and beyond to welcome and communicate when we are unable to visit thru texts/email as we live 80 miles away -iowa unpredictable weather .Visiting is so pleasant with all of the staff and retirement community! Thank you for kind welcoming care!
I have been with Parker Place almost a year and have seen the community grow rapidly. Lots of change for the positive! Such a wonderful place to be
