As others have mentioned here, Loretta is amazing! We had an emergency situation with my 100-year old mother. Loretta literally moved mountains to get a place for my mother - even though she knew it was probably a temporary solution. We will be forever grateful. As with most such facilities, staffing is an issue on and off. However, Palm Cottages boasts a group of highly competent, dedicated staff (Sissy,, Pasha, Pashenique).who are always cheerful and active and keep things humming. The wagon-spoke concept for helping deliver care really does work and help is always a button click away. Meals are important and looked forward to and the cooks are incredibly accommodating . All in all, we are thankful for the care from each and every staff member. If you are looking for a home for a parent or yourself, you can be assured that Palm Cottages will find the best option for you.
Bedbug infestation. They will knowingly move your loved one into a building they know to be infested with bedbugs and German cockroaches. Your loved ones will be feasted upon nightly. This is my reply to the owners response to my post. " Either you do not know what is going on at your property or you are a liar, either way your residents suffer . I do not need to call Terri, my information is first hand, it is a shame what you allow to happen.
Chronically understaffed. Never see the same caregiver two days in a row and most of the aides are agency folks because Palm Cottages does not hire enough or can't retain personnel. Your loved ones may be babysat by the TV. Not what was promised when signing the paperwork. Major disappointment and anxiety-causing.
You can tell the management cares about the quality of life here. I was touring place after place before I came across Palm Cottages. It’s the first place that felt like it had some life to it. The cottages are adorable and my mother loves how she didn’t feel like she was trapped in some big building. It’s been 6 months and I have never seen her happier. I look forward to visiting every chance I can. All the staff remember me and are so sweet!!
