I’m a CNA here and there no team work. The physical therapist and Occupational Therapist are terrible people they don’t care for the patients they don’t want to do patient care even though that’s was part of their training. They leave early all the time. And if you ask for help they say that’s not my patient all I was asking was help with the transfer. And the medical records department and secretary are always spying on the CNA ‘s to write us up for eating or drinking water. CNA work hard too many patients because we’re are always short staff. No team work . I don’t understand why they chosen to work in the healthcare when they don’t care.

This is by far the most run-down SNF I've ever seen, and the staff are extremely neglectful. This is not a "care" center or a rehab, it's where people get left alone in bed all day to deteriorate. My loved one came here for rehab after a long hospital stay. They would leave him in bed all day and night, and he got very minimal PT/OT (maybe twice a week for about 30 mins). If he was incontinent in bed, they would leave him in bed soiled anywhere from 20 mins to an hour. They also did a very poor job at cleaning him up, and his skin started turning red and breaking down. Patients are only allowed 1 shower per week. One time he was asleep on his assigned shower day and instead of waking him up they just skipped him and said he had to wait for another day, "if we have time." They never got his meds right and would be super late with giving him his meds. Anytime he asked a staff member a question, the CNAs would say, "Let me ask the nurse" and then disappear for hours. Even if he asked the RNs something, they would say, "Let me check with the doctor" and then they'd also disappear for hours. Dr. Khan, who is the medical director, has the WORST bedside manner and truly does not care about anyone there. My loved one finally got away from this awful place after he begged them for several hours to send him to the ER because he was having trouble breathing. He ended up getting admitted to the hospital and was intubated due to a serious infection that kept getting brushed off by the staff at PG Healthcare Center. For the love of God, DO NOT let your loved ones get trapped in this terrible facility.
A loved one of mine was brought to this facility from an outpatient clinic after hip surgery. She only had the clothes that she had worn to the outpatient clinic. She stayed in the hospital over the weekend even for Christmas and was brought there on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I drove 100 miles I brought her her Christmas present, which was a house dress. I bought her three shirts and a pair of new shoes because all she had was slippers. When I called about coming and visiting her, the lady who answered the phone was kind enough to tell me they had an outbreak of Covid there. So cautiously, I brought my friends gift to the door I had marked on the gift who it was for and what room. When I spoke with my friend on Friday, I was so disappointed to find out that they hadn’t given her her gift. Talking to the front desk was no real help although she assured me, she would send a nurses assistant to see if the bag was perhaps in my friends room, when I called my friend I overheard the nurses assistant come to her room. She told her she needed to use a pillow in the correct way. My friend asked the assistant about the gift. The gift Had her name and room number on it. I would’ve brought it in myself, but I did not have a mask and I have emphysema. My friend tells me they’re not reliable on bringing the pain meds in a consistent manner. It just makes me so sad that The professionals in charge of caring for our loved ones during their most vulnerable times would invest so little towards doing an adequate job. Three days post surgery not having consistent pain. Meds is unacceptable and it’s cruel. When I saw the 2.6 rating …..I thought oh that’s just someone who’s angry I wish I would’ve paid attention. Now I will spend this next week, hopefully finding her a better place to go
They say, "When someone tells you who they are, believe them". I'm looking at reviews, multiple; over months and years and it's screaming, "proceed with Caution!!!"
I recently lost my dear mother. She spent her final days at Pacific Grove Convalescent. My entire family was truly impressed with this place. The staff is very warm and friendly. I cannot express enough how much we appreciated each and everyone of them. Thank You PG Convalescent.
