I called to speak with Admissions regarding my Father. First called and never received a return call for several weeks. Then called again and spoke with Dana. From the very beginning of our conversation she seemed to not want to consider my Father for admission. He’s currently in another assisted living facility but she wanted to know if he was independent with walking, toileting etc. I explained that he is not, that’s why he needs Assisted Living! But he is medically stable, able to transfer and toilet with one person assist. She seemed annoyed but grudgingly agreed to allow me to bring him to their facility so their nurse could assess him. Then 2 days before appt she called saying they needed to see Clinicals before the appt. Again seemed to not want to even consider my Father. Very disappointing approach to the elderly, especially those in the market for Assisted Living Facility.

My Mom and Dad were residents at Emerald Village, Dad for almost 9 years and Mom another 2 1/2 years after he passed. They are amazing. They cared for my Mom and Dad like their own family. The staff there truly love the residents and bent over backwards to make it a special place. So many good employees that were as supportive to us as a family as they were to my aging Mom, especially with the anxieties that COVID brought. One caregiver sat with my Mom to help her through a tough evening when she was anxious about being alone. Charity, Alison, Brittany, Erin, Dale, Kathleen, Neil, Amie, Stephanie M, Maureen, Carol, Kathy G, Haley, Josh, Linda S., all of the dietary staff, ….everyone is amazing. Thank you so much for the last 11 1/2 years! We were lucky to have and know you. Until we meet again, may God Bless you all.
My mother moved into Emerald Village in December of 2017. This is a wonderful place. The building and grounds are lovely and kept spotless, the apartments are very nice, the food is excellent and the staff is the best! My brother and I have been more than impressed with the nurses, who endured some verbal abuse from our mom when she first moved in. She was reeling from all the changes in her life (at age 94) and took it out on the nurses as they went about their work of administering her medicines. They responded with professionalism, understanding and compassion. These ladies were so patient and kind! After a while, my mom adjusted, and she now appreciates what a great place EV is. She appreciates the nurses and aides who care for her so well. She says the dining room staff and the ladies who clean her apartment and collect and return her laundry are all friendly and make her feel cared for. My siblings and I feel very fortunate that our mom is at Emerald Village. We have peace of mind, knowing she is safe and well cared for and treated with kindness and respect.
My mother lived at Emerald Village for a little over two years! I cannot say enough about the care that she received both by the nursing staff and the aides. Everyone from the administrators, front desk, activities, maintenance and care takers made my mom feel safe, comfortable and happy. She enjoyed having meals with friends, participating in activities such as crafts, bingo, exercise classes and trips to area restaurants and casinos. It wasn’t just a place to live, it was her home.
We can’t even get them to call us back. I’m not sure anyone actually works in admissions. We have called several times and emailed. If they can’t even respond for admissions I hate to think how they treat residents. It is completely unprofessional. We have waited a long time for a response before leaving a review but it is so disappointing and frustrating when trying to find a reasonably priced and nice place for a loved one to live and having to deal with this kind of unprofessional behavior. Even if there is nothing available they should have the professionalism to let us know. Those in charge need to let go of whoever is in charge of admissions bc they are not doing their job.
