I'm only giving it 2 stars because the physical therapy was good and the nurses were nice. My mom was there for 6 weeks after surgery for a broken hip. I visited often and it was always loud and the rooms and bathrooms were dingy and outdated, TVs often didn't work and phones were not set up for use and took days for those repairs. Patients were left in the halls, often shouting from their rooms. Her first roommate had Alzheimer's and shouted constantly. I had to talk to someone to get my mom moved to another room I saw being cleaned out or she would have been left in that situation. Worst of all she got SCABIES! They either are not cleaning linens with hot water or not disinfecting wheelchairs between patients. They treated her there with a fungal rash cream instead of figuring out what the rash on her back actually was which I can assume means other patients have also gotten scabies from whichever patient brought it to the facility and was misdiagnosed. Scabies is highly contagious and this is just unacceptable.

Oceanpoint is absolutely disgusting and not where you want a loved one. When I got there, there was blood on the walls, there were people left in the hallway screaming, it was absolutely deplorable! My father didn’t have a phone or TV in his room so he was left to stare at the walls, until I could get him out of there. The people in charge there do not care about the patients at all from what I saw. It’s all about how much insurance money they can get from the people that are in there. It shows that they have four stars, but Medicare told me that they only read them as one star at best. So don’t be fooled. My father improved drastically once I moved him to a good skilled living facility.
Ocean Pointe is everything a good healthcare center should be! From clean rooms and facility, to very friendly and accommodating staff. They go out of their way to help their patients feel at home and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this facility to my family and loved ones!
I am a patient at Ocean Pointe and am very pleased with the facility. I have enjoyed the nursing care, and I am very impressed with the rehab therapists. I recommend Ocean Pointe without reservation.
This facility is one of the best skilled nursing facilities I have been to. Whether we’re referring to the friendliness of the staff or simply the cleanliness of the place, everything was amazing. I loved how everyone worked together rather than just saying “this is not my job”; for example, if a resident needed something, everyone regardless of their title were always willing to help. As a student nurse, I had the opportunity to shadow the nurse Jasmine (who’s amazing) and the DON Syndel (who is also amazing). They were always positive, smiling, encouraging the staff, and providing all the necessary tools for us to complete all our necessary task. Furthermore, i really liked the fact that everyone was extremely careful and practiced proper hand hygiene whenever going in and out of residents rooms (especially during this pandemic). All residents needs were always attended to and it just felt like a big family there. Looking forward to hopefully working with all these wonderful individuals again! Thank you guys for an amazing experience.
