One of the major problems with this facility is their lack of communication with families and within their own staff. The needs of patients are neglected and the rooms are only spot cleaned. I saw the same candy wrapper under the bed for days. I watched my friends health deteriorate day by day. The only person who appeared to enjoy their job was Dolly and the receptionist.

Never send your loved ones here, my aunt is in the rehab 2nd time in a row, we’ve contacted the facility countless times with no response, then have the audacity to send a bill for $8,000 for my 83 old aunt. 1st time around the social worker Julia called and said about changing her insurance to allow her to stay longer and get additional rehab, and she wouldn’t be responsible for out of pocket cost if she switched, so we agreed changed her from state insurance Aetna Medicare to straight Medicare A&B. She finally got released after many back and forth calls with the facility, the day of her discharge I informed Julia what time my husband and I were going to be there to pick up our aunt. We got there, a nurse aid gave my aunt a hug and there was no one else around to discharge or to sign her out, so we left. Next day we got a call that she needs to pick up her meds and officially discharge and I called them back left a msg with the nurses on what time would be best to get this done. No response. I emailed Julia regarding her insurance info, no response. My aunt fell, went to Hampden then discharged to Oak hill again which is a mile from where we all live, and it would be most convenient. Lauren emails me an invoice that she owes $8,000 from her 1st stay, and leave a msg for my mother in law that she needs her address to send the invoice and paper to sign to auto withdraw from my aunts account. I then emailed Lauren, twice, no response, and called her, no response. At this point this place is leading us to believe they are after her belongings with the poor communication thus far. I’ve even gone onto the website and sent my information in through the contact section for someone higher up to contact us. Oh, she also doesn’t have a TV in her room, and was told if she gets discharged then she’ll be responsible for the payment, and another nurse told her that her insurance would cover it all… what the heck is actually going on behind closed doors?
My grandma has been in here for over a week and is barely receiving any care and hardly any physical therapy, her and her roommate both went without breakfast two days in a row. My Grandma had to use the bathroom and she rang her call bell and waited over an hour until someone came and helped her to the bathroom. This was absolutely terrible place to be and I pray she gets to go home soon. I looked out in the hallway multiple times and didn't see anyone to try and get help for my grandma, there was a girl who wasn't an aide who tried to help and kept saying our aide was coming and she never came. This place is awful and severely understaffed if it takes someone over and hour to help them. And some of the staff was rude to my grandma who is literally the sweetest lady ever. This place needs reformed!
Rehabilitation side....Mother came in on Wednesday night, no physical therapy for 2 days, received occupational therapy, but no physical therapy. Nothing to drink besides with a meal, of course you can't receive 8 full glasses a day if you eat 3 meals a day. It smells like urine. My mother rang the bell for over an hour to get assistance to the rest room, in which she decided to try herself and fell. She could've popped open her stitches or worse, it was 10 minutes before someone realized she had fell and assisted her up. That was the 3rd day of her being there. My brother went to visit my mother, one of the staff assisted him to find her room, and an empty liquor bottle fell out of her smock. It has taken over 5 hours and counting to have her discharged. Do not go to this place, room was filthy and took 3 days to clean the room.
Staff refuse to contact the family members with any change. Lie continuously on patient status. No compassion. Social workers do not know how to advocate and preform their jobs appropriately. Nursing staff are rude. Administrator doesn’t understand their charting system. If you have a loved one there, get an outside representative involved. Otherwise, you won’t know if you loved one is alive and well, or deceased.
