A special place of kindness and care. My Dad was there a short time before his passing, but it was so refreshing to find such a wonderful place for his last months. After being in a big corporate facility prior to Northridge, the contrast was incredible. Northridge is a family. Dad was so happy there and he could keep his dog with him too. I highly recommend this facility.

Great family owned and operated senior living facility. They are kind and compassionate about what they do. Not many places really care about their residents like this place does. I am a nurse advocate and navigate the healthcare system for people. This place is one of my absolute favorites!
I have a good friend that I help care for and he has lived at Barnett Woods for a little over a year now. He really likes living there and all the staff care a great deal for him. He has the beginnings of dementia and they make him feel very welcome. The staff is always looking out for him. I am thankful that I have found this place where he is safe.
In my experience, Barnett Woods (BW) is a great place. If you are looking for a place for a relative, definitely check this place out. It is perfect for my Mom who is not into a lot of flash. BW is good solid basic retirement establishment. Mom is safe, clean and well fed. She does not participate in a lot of outside activities, which they have a fair number available. Before Mom moved into BW, I looked at a number of places and I found that most of them were fine, the only difference being the amount of outside activities and price. BW is the best value I found for what Mom needed and would use. I would rate the activities as being in the middle of all the places I researched. I tell people it is a good solid place that is sorta like a Best Western, not the Hilton and definitely not Motel 6. AND very friendly and willing to help staff. Can't beat that combination. I like the fee schedule for services beyond the basics for the monthly rent. If you need something else (like having them do your laundry or assist with bathing), they have the service available at a very reasonable rate. Technically they do not have assisted living facilities (I am told), but looking at the services they have available, I can not tell you what is missing. Looks to me like they have it all covered. If it is Memory Care you are looking for or might need in the future; yes their facility is not set up for that. BUT short of Memory Care, I think Mom can get anything she needs right there. ALL THE STAFF have been great when I needed them or talked with them. Lois and Charlie are OUTSTANDING and in my experience are really looking out for their residents. They have called me a couple times with a solution to a situation before Mom had even let me know something was up. Like I said before, they are perfect for Mom and I would definitely check them out in your research of options in the area. Definitely talk to Lois or Charlie when you taking a look their facility.
I know that if one of my family members needed care, this would definitely be the place I would consider checking them into. I know the owner and he's a very good man it's a family business and they care about the people that live there. My son also worked here and had nothing bad to say about it.
