The two i was most impressed with in the care of my sister were her aides, Jessica and Chandler from the third floor. She didn't have Jessica as often as i would of liked but when she did she took excellent care of her. She is a very caring person who you can tell she loves her job. Chandler was excellent also, she always greeted us with a smile and was always willing to do what she needed to do for my sister. She was very caring and always took the time to listen to you.
My mom has been at rehab for 6 weeks. She is getting good care. They are very accommodating to her needs. The staff is very good - PT, OT, 2nd floor, Dietary - to name a few. My family is very pleased with the facility.
I have been a patient at Niagara Rehab for 2 mos learning to walk again and the therapy i received was excellent i came in by wheelchair and walked out the staff was very considerate and humble toward,me. The bldg. Was always clean the rooms cleanedĺ i can say if you need Rehab consider Niagara this is the place
I was a resident there for 3 years and I have to say I will never come back again. Now that I'm far away from this place I'm gonna give my honest review and experience. This place is TERRIBLE,regardless of what anyone else say. The food is horrible,I bet you ppl in prison get better food then what this place serve. They take your social security, medicaid and medicare, regardless of how much social security you get. They give you a 50 dollar allowance a month and don't expect staff to take you to tops,or dollar tree or anything like that because they don't do that anymore. The activities are boring, most of the time you will be playing bingo because that's the only activity worth doing. I was a bingo caller for 3 years doing staff job,but was never rewarded or paid and after a while the residents expected me to come to call bingo instead of appreciating what I was volunteering doing. If I didn't care about them I would of stopped calling bingo a long time ago. Once a month we would have resident counsel, ppl would come together and express their feelings and new activities they would like to do. I came with the idea of going to the casino since it's right downtown and near the nursing home. Instead of us actually going to a casino and doing something fun, activities thought that turning the dining hall(where all activities are done)into a casino. Sounds great right, well it wasn't,cardboard slot machines and tables with cloth on them like you was playing a dice game, but it's only blackjack. Some ppl there was so demented that they thought it was a actual casino is like saying "hey they are a bunch of retards anyway so let's let them think they are in a actual casino". I stopped going to resident council, taking anything seriously after that, plus if it's not within the budget, forget it(food alternatives included). I had to leave and I feel bad I left behind alot of ppl who depended on me,but I was going through depression the longer I stayed there. Social workers never helped anyone,in fact they want to keep you as long as they can to have you completely dependent on them(staff). You may read all this and say "well my mother, father, family member didn't go through all that",but I promise, either you was never told or no one wanted to admit it. I can only tell you the experience I went through and I guarantee the majority of other residents went through the same.
