I had a deeply unsettling road rage encounter with an employee of NHC Healthcare that has left me questioning the judgment and emotional regulation of someone entrusted with the care of vulnerable individuals. While driving my daughter to school in the morning, I signaled and legally merged into the left lane to make a turn onto Garden City Connector — the same road this employee appears to use for his commute. Rather than turning into the facility’s parking lot, he followed my vehicle for 1.7 miles to my daughter’s school. During this time, he repeatedly honked his horn and took photos of my car, clearly attempting to intimidate me. The inability to manage his emotions and the decision to escalate a simple traffic situation into a threatening confrontation is not only unprofessional — it’s concerning, especially given the nature of his work in a caregiving environment. For the sake of the patients and families who rely on NHC Healthcare, I sincerely hope the staff is held to a higher standard of behavior and emotional maturity than what I experienced.

My brother was put in this facility 4 weeks ago. I don't know much about the conditions or care staff, as I live in New York. I sincerely pray that a lot of the reviews are inaccurate, as they are not good! I won't allow substandard care for my brother, he's only 65 and deserves the best. His son put him in this facility. Please do your best to care for him and all residents. Thank you
Currently, my mother is in long term nursing care. She has been there for 2 1/2 years. At the beginning of her stay, her care was good. The nursing staff and CNAs were cooperative and responsive to her needs. This has dramatically changed in the last 6 months. Good, dependable staff have been let go. Administration has not responded to my email or calls. I’m quite concerned about the decline.
The people here are wonderful. However, the Labs they use ARE VERY, VERY, slow. Mom is here for therapy but has been under room restrictions for possible cdiff. It's been FIVE days waiting....all while Mom's insurance is being spent on minimal "in room" therapy. 5 days and now we're on a weekend with no more lab work being performed. Maybe, given the cost, someone should have been egging the lab on.
The experience with my dad has been entirely a disaster. He went there for subacute rehab first of all the facility had him for a month did not follow up on doctors appointments inconsistent reports about his progress. They told us he was walking 100 feet when we picked him up, he could barely walk 10 feet, the social services Director is totally disconnected from what’s really happening on the unit and only reads you the report from the therapist not actually how he’s doing functionally on a day-to-day basis Just what the therapist say in addition, they did not follow up on his medical appointments for over a month. They had him sitting in a wheelchair with his bag, packed his lap at 7 o’clock in the morning we had arranged for three days to pick him up early for a long drive for relocation near my brother No one helped him discharge. There were no instructions. They had my sister-in-law sign a piece of paper and take him no medication instructions. Nothing was given. This facility is certainly lacking in care for the elderly, and in fact, I would consider it an organization that commits fraud we asked for a mental competency evaluation, and because my father could tell who the president was, they did not perform one and despite multiple request, he was behind in his bills his taxes living in feces could not remember who his daughter-in-law was, but they refused to do the competency evaluation. We removed him from this organization due to inadequate care and disjointed communication to the family responsible.
