If you can't check on your loved one every single day don't go here. I got the flu didn't see my dad for 3 days. He told me something was wrong and I went there with a mask and he told me he fell and was on the floor for hours the night before. I had to request an ambulance which took hours because the nurse wasn't concerned. My dad died 8 days later. They never called to check they just had his belongings boxed to pick up. I'm rating a 2 ONLY b/c of the therapy team; they are wonderful & do their jobs above & beyond expectation. If not for them, my father would have gotten zero attention during his month+-long stay. We were already skeptical based on the word of paramedics, hospital staff, & past reviews. But we were following Dr recommendation & this was the only place with an opening at the time. There were several times my father fell out of bed, which should have been lowered almost to the ground to avoid injuries.. & fell out of his geri-chair also, b/c they almost never took him out of it. His roommates gave us more daily info than the staff ever did, informing us of falls & incidents that the staff didn't. My dad's "buddy" at the time (from another room) told us my dad was tired & yelling for bed at 4am in the common room one night, yet no one bothered b/c they didn't want to have to keep walking to his room to check on him. I always marked his adult diapers, & many times would come 6-8 hours later to see the same soaking diaper on him from the mornings. He once was given the wrong medication by a Dr who confused "Gary" (my father) with "Larry" (his roommate), & we would have never known if I hadn't arrived to actually hear her calling my dad by the wrong name. These are just a few of the problems, but the worst was the night we pulled him OUT of there.. they called at 1am to say he "fell out of bed," & that he had a small cut on the back of his head. They didn't think 911 was necessary. I said "Of course it is; he has dementia, can barely talk, & has a head injury." A nurse in the background kept telling the 1 on the phone that there's no need for 911, until I said i was calling them myself. In reality, this was no small cut!! It was a huge gash down to the skull that required staples. The care was so bad, & the prospect of more neglect was so obvious & scary, that we've brought him home to care for him ourselves. I could say so much more, but I feel this is more than enough already, on this platform.
Trust the other negative reviews. This place is terrible and will neglect your loved ones. Not clean or safe at all and needs a major overhaul of staff and management.
My father in law spent a 7 day respite in this facility. We were quite impressed with the entire experience. The admissions director was attentive to our concerns which attributed to our confidence in the care provided. The nursing staff was excellent care and co-operative when we called for updates. The facility was clean, well kept and we will use them for future stays.
I can't say enough great things about this facility. I was there a total of 8 weeks for physical and occupational therapy. The therapy team is amazing! They helped me gain confidence and genuinly cared about my progress. The CNA Aides were caring and attentive, as were the nurses. The whole team from Admin to custodial were great. I have recommended this facility to many people.
