My mom is at Mt Macrina in rehab and if I need something done for her I ask and she’s taken care of. I also spend time with her while she’s there to help. Those nurses and nurses aides in the rehab department are very caring and will do anything you need done for your loved one. They are also very busy, but are always in to see my and and asking her if she needs to use the bathroom, they cut her nails, and makes sure she get to rehab. I’m so glad my mom was able to get in.

The staff there are awesome and very knowledgeable, friendly plus they work hard to help you get you back to your normal activities.Special thanks to Jodi,Sarah,Theresa,Donna and Rachel.
The rehab staff with the exception of one gentleman that was always willing to help all need to learn that people that are there are there trying to get better to be able to go home. I know first hand that patients have to wait extremely long times for someone to help them after pushing their call buttons. At times they wait so long that they start yelling for help. It should never be that way. The staff that we dealt with was not friendly and my family member xame home before she should have because of the way she was treated. I would never recommend this place for rehab.
Very disappointed in this short care rehabilitation facility. The reviews implied that the facility was the best in the area. My family was completely thrown for a disappointment. Communication was very poor between staff changing shifts. My mother was taken off medication that she should not have been taken off of, no one came to help her get ready for bed, my mother is a diabetic and there was no dietary restrictions given to her. Some medications were substituted and should not have been. She even had a fall trying to get out of bed to get to the bathroom. No help at all. My mother told us the hostility she experienced and how scared she was of most of the staff and administration. She didn’t want to verbally rebuke their confrontations for fear. I realize that with COVID 19, and short staffing that these times are at best trying but what they didn’t do for my mother is uncalled for. My mother is home now but still is having nightmares about this facility. Good luck to others who use this facility as short term rehabilitation.
Mt. Macrina Manor is a wonderful place to have a family member that needs to be in a nursing home! I would say it’s the best in the area! We are extremely pleased! The 3-star rating is based on their lack of resources. They desperately need more nurses and aides. The facility and rooms are very clean and well kept. And they do a fabulous job of decorating for each season/holiday! They always have activities for the residents to keep them occupied and entertained. And they do their best to encourage residents to join in on the activities. And, the meals are actually good! There are issues, and as with all these types of facilities these days, they are extremely short-handed, which causes a multitude of problems! My experience has been that residents may have to wait up to 30 minutes (more often than not) to get a response when pushing their help button. This is completely unacceptable! Especially, if they are sitting on the toilet and have to wait that long. They are extremely short on staff, and the residents are now suffering because of this. Plus, the aides seem to come and go. It is difficult to get to know anyone when they keep changing every day. Many of these residents would be much better served if they were able to get to know people that would be consistent. And the aides would get to know them. I know that each time I visit, it is someone new. Definitely not a good situation, because the aides can’t really get to know the residents. This is a huge NEGATIVE for Mt Macrina Manor. I do have to give a lot of credit to the nurses and aides that they do have. They work so very hard and are always running. Most of them are extremely caring and patient, though there are a couple that are not. They are very impatient and uncaring about the individual’s needs that they are supposed to be taking care of. Also, be aware if your loved one needs any special care or appointments. Be diligent in making sure they happen. My experience has been that if I tell a nurse or social worker that something needs to happen, it falls into a black hole. I have had to be especially vocal in making sure that things get done. This is a huge disappointment for me, as I expected Mt Macrina Manor to be better than the other places to manage my family member’s needs. I don’t think that I should have to ‘remind’ them every week of what needs to happen.
