My 96 year old mother was fortunate enough to become a resident at Mt. Carmel right after this past Christmas. My siblings and I had been trying to convince her for years that continuing to live alone in her apartment was not safe for her anymore. Mt. Carmel was the only facility that she would even consider. All of the staff members have gone above and beyond to make sure all her needs are met and that she is comfortable. They have helped with her adjustment by encouraging her to engage in group activities while respecting her need for time alone. As soon as I walked in the door I was impressed - it is clean and cheerfully decorated. I appreciate the open lines of communication from the nurses regarding updates about her care. My mother loves the fact that she can attend daily Mass and I know she will love their beautiful garden now that the weather is warmer. A special thank you to nurses Danielle and Jen and to Alex in Maintenance - you are amazing and are very much appreciated.

My mother got excellent care on the memory care floor. All the staff care about the patients. They never make you feel unwelcomed as visitors. We felt the facility was comfortable for the residents. It was always very clean as well. If any of the staff who cared for my mom are reading this, thank you!!
My 91 year-old mother is currently getting excellent care at Mt. Carmel. The nursing staff, specifically Stephanie, Jean and Danielle, are attentive, caring and highly-responsive. They communicate regularly with my sisters and me regarding my mom's care and condition and make time whenever we have questions to ask or input to share.
My 94 year old grandmother needed to go to a rehab after having covid and a UTI. She needed help to build up her strength again. My grandmother said the nurses were really nice and she received good care. Her only bad review was that the food was horrible. It just wasn’t what she liked. As family, our issue was the lack of communication - a number of times asking for someone to reach out to us ( no one ever did) when we asked the nurses anything - we always got - “I am new on this floor” or “I haven’t worked with your grandmother yet”. The only time someone reached out is when they needed paperwork filled out (for billing) We had to request a meeting, which we got 8 days after her being there. She was there for a total of 10 days. While there my grandmother ended up getting the stomach flu, not even 2 days after being there - we (her family) got it too because , no one told us she had it and no precautions on the door. And the day before she left we( her family) walked into her room to find her not there anymore (all her stuff gone) and it was her roommate that told us that my grandmother was moved because she (the roommate had covid) again no precautions on the door. So, I would give 4 stars for the way the nurses/LNA’s took good care of my gram - especially since she had a horrible experience at a different rehab a few years back. But would give 1 star when it comes to the way the Administration communicates with family.
My elderly aunt was recently at Mt Carmel for care and eventually end of life care. The staff took such good care of her in her final days and this gave us/family great comfort to know she was well cared for.
