I highly recommend Mrs. Bush’s to anyone seeking a caring, comfortable, and well-maintained home for their loved one. The facility is always spotless, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and offers plenty of engaging activities for residents. The staff is very friendly and cares about what they do!
Mrs. Bush's offers respite care for people who need their loved ones to stay someone while on vacation. This personal care facility is amazing. My mother is so comfortable, likes the food, the staff, the residents. Everyone is so friendly and caring. All the residents seem so happy whether permanent or temporary. There should be more places like this for the elderly. You know your loved ones are being cared for which gives so much peace of mind.
My Mom has lived at Mrs. Bush's for almost 2 years now. Everything was suddenly a whirlwind in the manner she ended up there. But it was her choice to go there. Her Best Friend had lived there years ago so she knew of Mrs. Bush's. Plus, we lived-I grew up- just across the mountain so we knew the area well. And almost all of the 'kids' of her Best Friend still lived in the area. My husband & I had visited some PCHs near us to try to get Mom to stay near us but I thought I should at least check out Mrs. Bush's. So my daughter & I went for a visit. We immediately fell in love with the place. Our first impression was how 'homey' it was. As you walk in, it's painted & decorated as if you walked into an outdoor Cafe. There is carpeting everywhere & there were no 'funny smells' if you know what I mean. They have different size rooms, with & without their own shower. And a more independent living section downstairs besides the 'personal care' floor upstairs. So there are different price points. Everyone is so nice there. As my Mom got healthier she has really settled in. There are many different types of activities offered there. Something for everyone, and many where the families are encouraged to join in. During an outing with friends to a local car show my Mom ran into a couple friends & neighbors from up the road where we used to live. It was especially nice that they came to visit her at Mrs. Bush's later on. I really like to follow Mrs. Bush's FB page. They make a point of posting pics of all their activities & you can see what everyone is doing and making in crafts etc. They also have special visitors too which are very interesting, lol. My daughter and I laugh that my Mom (her Gram) has a lot more of a social life than the two of us put together!!! My Mom is a big football fan & they went out of their way to make sure she was able to watch the Penn State & NFL games on her smart TV. I am so thankful for everyone at Mrs. Bush's...the medtechs, the aides, the doctor, NP & nursing & office staff, the home health nurses & physical therapists, the dining room staff, activities director, the cleaning & laundry people....which I must mention here. They came & labeled my Mom's clothing right away. They have a great system so that everyone gets their clothing washed AND THEY GET IT BACK! On a schedule. My Mom had been to two other places (nursing homes, not PCH) and they could NEVER get it right. In fact the day I picked my Mom up from the other facility to take her 'home' to Mrs. Bush's, she didn't even have her own clothing in her closet. I brought her down here in someone else's sweater. So laundry is a BIG DEAL and here they get it RIGHT. Overall, thank you to everyone at Mrs. Bush's for taking care of my Mom, and especially for being her FRIEND--you all know who you are. She appreciates all of you, as do we.
Mrs. Bush's has been caring for my mom for almost two years. Very warm and loving atmosphere, all of the staff are the sweetest and most friendly, caring people I have met. They treat my Mom like Gold and give her all the love, attention and respect you would hope and expect. Really good food, very clean and bright, fun activities for the guests and more. Small-town feel but with the care of a top assisted-living home. Owners are fantastic. Love this place!
