I am grateful for the exceptional care and support I’ve received at Morningside House of Spotsylvania. After a lot of research, I decided to move my loved one into this memory care facility, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. From the moment I walked in for a tour, I was met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere by Audrey at the concierge desk. All of the staff I have interacted with and observed is compassionate and professional. The environment feels like a safe, nurturing place for residents. The facility is clean, comfortable and well laid out for residents with a dementia diagnosis like my loved one. On my visits I have seen the residents engaging in many activities and enjoying themselves. The executive director and director of nursing were able to accommodate the evaluation of my loved one at another assisted living community she was living at. Their rapid response enabled me to facilitate the transition to my loved one’s new home at Morningside House of Spotsylvania as quickly as possible. A huge thank you to Teresa Steinbach, the Directory of Sales and Marketing, who made the transition so smooth. She was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, answering all of my questions, providing detailed information, and offering guidance. Teresa went above and beyond, taking the time to ensure that I felt comfortable and informed at every step. Her kindness and expertise were truly invaluable. It’s clear that Morningside House of Spotsylvania is a place where residents’ well-being is the top priority, and I feel at ease knowing my loved one is in such good hands. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for memory care for their family members.

It’s alright to say “They are just so wonderful!” and leave it that. But that really doesn’t convey the depth of the care and service the team at Morningside House of Spotsylvania provide. So …. Audrey – This is, usually, the first person you meet when you enter the facility. She is simply wonderful; so helpful, pleasant, and always smiling! Mr. Fade (Executive Director) – One day, while at the facility I encountered Mr. Fad and I asked him for a breakdown of expenses incurred for the tax period 01JAN2024 through 31DEC2024. I had it in my email before I left the facility that day. Ms. King (Director of Nursing) – Early in our relationship with Morningside, I was confused about a number of things related to the medical care of our family member and a lot of things just didn’t seem to make sense to me. So, I asked for a sit-down with Ms. King. She (happily I think) accommodated me and we spent the better part of an hour discussing the care policies and practices in place and Ms. King patiently taught me WHY they were in place. Her caring approach to teaching me what I needed to know to be comfortable with the care my family member is receiving made all the difference in the world. Ms. McKenzi (Business Office Manager) – Ms. McKenzi is always around to be found and there have been a number of times when I have approached her with questions that were completely outside her swim lane. With no fuss or muss, she patiently directed me to the person I needed to talk to for my answer and HELPED ME FIND that person in the facility. Ms. Steinbach (Director of Sales & Marketing) – To my mind, Ms. Steinbach is the star, among so many star performers, of the show at Morningside. Our relationship with her didn’t stop when we signed on the dotted line. The other day I approached the nursing staff about a question concerning the bathing schedule for my family member. Yesterday, I was taking in the lobby with a staff member and, from her office, Ms. Steinbach heard me, recognized my voice, called out to me, exited her office – all to ask whether my questions had been answered and was I satisfied with the answers I have received. But, wait! There’s more! I’ve singled out the heads of departments but that is only the icing on the cake. There are so many folks there that I don’t know by name that have done their bit to make life better for my family member. There’s Britteny who provides so much one-on-one care. There’s Mr. Koren that ensures everything in the facility is in tip-top shape and who has even loaned me a tool. There’s Laura (NP) who has spent soooo much of her time answering questions and ensuring everything medical is the way it should be. I don’t know all the names, but EVERY staff member I have encountered there, without exception, has been wonderful, accommodating, caring, and helpful!
Cardinal Village is one of the best memory care communities in the Fredericksburg area. The staff are very caring and compassionate of the residents. There are daily activities to help stimulate the residents minds and bodies. There are weekly outings to get out and see the city. There are monthly employee incentives. The community feels like home from the time you drive onto the property all the way thru your visit.
it is a pleasure to write this review of Cardinal Village. When I decided I could no longer care for my wife at home I toured several local memory care facilities. They were all nice but as soon as I walked into the Village I was impressed by the upbeat and friendly vibe of the staff. On the facility tour I noticed how clean and organized everything was. The room was a large apartment with a nice bathroom, not at all like a dormitory. I visit pretty much every day and can say the staff from activity director to the nurses and the aides who work with the residents are wonderful. The meals are tasty and well-balanced nutritionally and there are activities planned every day. It is tough leaving a loved one in the hands of others but you can rest easy and sleep well at night knowing your family member is so well taken care of.
Do not send your family members here. It looks like a nice place on the outside, but on the inside, your family members are not being properly taken care of. As far as a place to work, It is severely understaffed because of the lack of leadership and The employees are over worked and underpaid the DON Nicole Does her job with pettiness instead of professionalism the building is ran like a high school not a facility where you take care of loved ones!
