This is a review for KendallHouse. My mother fell twice in their care, and they failed to call me when she did. Then they denied me the incident report when I asked to see it so I could know the details of the fall. If that wasn’t bad enough, the administered another patient’s medication to my mom. This resulted in a report to the state department . When in need of a second Rehab stay we considered returning to them, thinking they would be more on their toes and have improved their systems. When we called for placement, they refused us telling the social worker we had “caused problems.” I guess that’s what it’s called when you advocate for your family members safety. Do not choose this place.
My mother has been a resident of Kendall House for almost six years! My sister & I (along with our mother) have NEVER thought of moving her anywhere else...which says a lot. The facility is very nice, still feels new, a very dignified setting. The staff are all compassionate, good souls. Those that haven’t been so compassionate do not last long...and there have been very few of those.
This is a review on Kendall House specifically. No idea how any of these 5 star reviews got here, but by reading them none of them had family staying here. This place is a train wreck. Trust me…my Mom put my Dad here and it was a very sad disaster! Yes, they bring lots of food if that’s all you want, but all of the nursing is seemingly on contract, so you never see the same person 2 days in a row. They claim they check on residents every couple of hours, but never saw that in person! Go elsewhere!
The residents are beyond fantastic. I love them very much. Majority of the staff genuinely cares about the residents. They work very hard. Sadly, sub contracted management lacks quite a bit of compassion for all. The work environment can be wonderful without control from egotistical bosses. Matt Jaurez is in charge of food service, along with Nathan. They do not care about their employees or their residents. Human resources lacks knowledge about the people in charge of the food service and does not listen to employee concerns. Both do not care. It is money and a business to them. It is a disgrace to residents and employees. I would never suggest that living environment to my 79 year old mother. The employee treatment and lack of care for the residents is disgusting. Sad, really.
