I visited a friend who was on post-op rehab at this facility today. It was my first time there. We happened to be in the lounge when it was time for some entertainment. A retired gentleman, who obviously had been a professional singer, sang fifties & sixties favorites (including a lot of Elvis & Beatles) to a group of mostly elderly patients in wheelchairs. Many could mouth the words and clap or move hands. Several staff attended & clapped, sang & encouraged everyone to join in. It was a nostalgic, fun hour, and so therapeutic.

No words can describe what I’ve seen, heard, done, and covered up……..I was hired and improved, prevented, participated, engaged, cared for, and respected the patients in a short time (7 days short of my 90 day review) only to be back stabbed, lied to, manipulated, and terminated over a staff of clicks. I never played well in popularity contests and my work with patients and families and coworkers was well received. Google Reviews went from 3.3 to 3.6 in the less than 90 days I was on board (several mentioned my job specifically). Administration is unapproachable realistically due to the ego bigger than the braids. Also, admin is too blind to see the trees through the forest. Administration never sat in on a conversation with myself and/or a patient and their family , to see my actual impact I had or to be impactful herself upon the success of Montowese patients. Karma sorts things like that out. Montowese is not the place to work. As soon as you learn a name and face, they are gone, as they hire and fire almost daily …. And that’s not a place for loved ones …. after all who would want to send a loved one to a place where staff is changing regularly? Edit added: Administration actually asked staff to do Google reviews to bury this one! More than 48 hours after that request, not one staff review! Speaks volumes about my truth of administration. I hope corporate reads these reviews!
5 Stars for Montowese Center for Health & Rehabilitation⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment you walk in the automatic doors you are warmly greeted and assisted with check in if you're not sure. Every staff member spoke and gave a pleasant smile. The staff is most certain to introduce themselves and what they do upon entry of the patients/client's room. The rooms are nice clean, the game room is bright. There was a really good singer in the recreation room, so there's live entertainment. A great place to receive Rehabilitation because they genuinely care about you and your success in getting well❤️ PT Vincent the best and Devin check pressure friendly, kind very pleasant again the best. There are so many wonderful staff I apologize for not recognizing each of you by name❤️ Thank you tremendously Montowese for your exceptional staff I appreciate your phenomenal exemplary service for my Mom❤️❤️
My sister was at Montowese for a bit over a week to receive physical therapy following surgery. The physical therapists were great. They were supportive and kind and my sister has nothing bad to say about their treatment of her. They assisted her getting ready to come home and helped her get stronger. Many of the other staff such as one of her nurses and some of the assistants were kind and professional as well. That's where the good things end. My sister was on a restrictive diet due to medical issues. She rarely received food that she was allowed to eat. Even after she spoke to the nutritionist and I spoke to other staff her meals always contained items (usually most of the meal) she was not allowed with no replacement items offered. She ended up with constipation. She was in pain for several days until I complained (she had spoken to several people about her pain and constipation to no avail) and after she was given some sort of medicine she still had the issue yet then no control of her bowels. She ended up in soiled pants for hours at a time. It took either our other sister (a nurse) to help her change, or me complaining to staff until she was helped. Next there is a supposed "new system" in place that has the call button alarm in the hallway outside patients rooms. The calls were rarely answered promptly and so the very loud beeping would go on and on and on for minutes and even hours at a time. When questioned staff told us several stories (it was broken, it was new, it was because of a resident pushing the button over and over) but the beeping never stopped. How a resident could get any peace or sleep is beyond me. Finally the communication between staff and between staff and resident seems non-existent. My sister was often spoken to as if she were a child even though she if a totally competent adult who was simply in need of physical assistance. Other times staff was rude and almost hostile, especially when we complained. In the end we were a bit frightened to complained in case the continued issues were actually intentional instead of lack of proper care. In the end, while there are professional and caring staff in the physical therapy department and several in the other departments, I wouldn't send my sister back to Montowese ever.
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and gratitude to the administrator of Montowese. Each day, I quietly observe her unwavering dedication and the genuine care she provides to both residents and staff. My aunt is a patient here, and she has consistently been treated with kindness, compassion, and respect. Under her leadership, Montowese has improved significantly from what it was a few years ago. She goes above and beyond for both residents and employees, never seeking recognition, yet her efforts truly deserve to be acknowledged. Thank you, Joanne, for your exceptional leadership, and thank you to the Montowese team for your commitment to excellence
