My husband who has dementia fell & broke his hip & needed a skilled nursing facility. After research I chose Mesquite Village Healthcare. The snow storm hit & I can't drive in snow. Kristopher, the Facility Representative, sent me papers over the internet & walked me through the process. Tanya, the Director of Nursing answered all of my questions & made me feel comfortable with my decision. He has been in their care since 2/18. I could not ask for a more committed staff to care for my husband than Mesquite Village. Their caring hearts extended to me when my tears fell like rain & they made me feel like family. I am blessed to have found a caring family in Mesquite Village.

"Dealing with an elderly parent is never easy. Recently I found myself having to make decisions for my father that I thought I would never have to make. I think as children we believe our fathers are like Superman. My father is my hero. In 2020, my father, began forgetting my name and the names of his grandchildren. I noticed this issue, but I did not think it would lead to early onset dementia. After Thanksgiving I decided to attend to take him to a memory care doctor to get an accurate diagnosis. I was heartbroken when the doctor told me that there isn't anything we can do to help him. I moved my father in with me thinking that if I was closer to him, I would be able to help. I was wrong. He needed care that I could not provide because I work 10-hour shifts. I reached out to his doctor once more and he recommended that we look into placing him at a Skill Nursing Facility. At first, I was reluctant. In my mind no one would be able to take care of him as well as I could. However, I was left with no choice. My best friend contacted me and explained that Mesquite Village was a perfect solution to my problem. Her experience with Mesquite Village was outstanding. I called to speak with someone to get some information. I spoke with Kristopher and Tanya about placing my father. They were an absolute delight. They answered all my questions. We decided to start the process. It's been a little of 2 months since my father became a resident. I am so grateful for the staff and nurses. My father is happier, and he seems to be doing better than I expected. If you are looking for a place for your loved ones, PLEASE, chose Mesquite Village."
Mesquite Village is a very nice facility. They are like an extended family that provide care for your family members. The staff is very friendly and treat the patients with kindness and respect. Whenever I have had concerns, they were always addressed and resolved in a timely manner. I´m grateful that my loved one is at a facility where they DO care about the patients and treat each one like their own family.
My father in law as a result of utter neglect by this nursing care. There is absolute proof of elder abuse that is going ok in this facility. My father in law was communicative, able to perform his activities to a reasonable extent prior to being admitted here but after 5 days he returned with a stroke with absolute no care provided in the interim or admitted to a hospital for further care. He had slurred speech, was babbling and lost all ability to function independently. Exactly now after a month, he passed away a few days ago.
Would not recommend this facility to anybody that truly wants their loved ones to have compassionate, safe health care. My mother was in this facility for four months and in this time frame she suffered two hospitalizations for bad infections and had fallen twice (that I was informed of). Their lack of communication and empathy is another issue. For example, my mother was diagnosed with COVID-19 (contracted at the facility) on a Monday and I did not find out about her diagnosis until I contacted the facility to plan a visit with my mother. Instead of a sincere apology for this great over site, I was met with a dismissive “sorry, I had a lot of people to call and thought I called you.” As for the facility staff and nursing coordinator, some not all should not be caring for people like my mother that completely depend on them ... It’s a shame .....Please!!!!! Don’t just brush off my post, I am sharing my experience my mother and I had while her stay at the this facility. Now think long and hard if you want your love ones here.......Wish I could had given them a 0 rating but won’t let me post if I don’t have a star
