My son was sent here in April from Ascension St. John! He had a broken pelvis from a hit-and-run and a stent in his heart, When he arrived there, they gave him a very hard time saying that he didn’t have his medication with him. He was brought to this place by ambulance! When he got there, I got a call from him and he was wondering if I had his medication and I said no I don’t. I would have no way to get that. It’s all the way in Detroit and I am from Port Huron! And then, when I called up there, I got accused of picking up his medication and not taking it to him, which was fault they were even accusing my son who was in horrible pain and had no medication!!! They had him there close to 12 hours sent him back to Ascension at 2:30 in the morning. My son was there for So long suffering from pain and being accused of taking his medication with him, which was false!! when he returned to the hospital in Detroit Ascension, I spoke to the social worker and she said they know damn well that when a patient is brought by an ambulance, they do not give them a bag of prescriptions to take with them. They give him a list of the prescriptions and they are supposed to give it to him, but they didn’t want nothing to do with him. Instead they accused him and me and here it was their fault the whole time! this was not their first rodeo they should know darn well that a patient does not show up from the hospital with a bag of prescription prescriptions. They know this yet they made my son suffer. They did not want nothing to do with him. This place is horrible I would never everput a family member in me. They are horrible people. They are liars and very coldhearted so whatever you do do not put your family in me in Fort Gratiot and please don’t count on Lisa who works there to know anything because obviously she does not.

There’s no place like home, but my experience on the rehabilitation unit was fantastic! I throughly enjoyed the staff, from housekeeping to the front office and everyone in between, what gems they are! They truly became my family while I was there. The PT staff was so patient and and knowledgeable! They got me to a point that I was comfortable going home after surgery. I couldn’t recommend medilodge of PH enough.. anytime something wasn’t to my standard or a concern came about, it was addressed quickly and effectively by the unit manager! If she didn’t have the answers, she was able to get me in contact with the appropriate person. Again, highly recommend and would trust my loved ones here as well!
Each time I visit my family member on rehab I forget that I'm in a nursing home because it does not smell like one AT ALL! My aunt stayed at another facility nearby last year and I remember it smelling like urine each visit. Props to the team at Medilodge for their cleanliness and kindness.
Nice little rehabilitation facility. Beautiful grounds. Staff goes out of the way to help make patients feel at home. Special thanks to Donna (nurse) and Nicole (aide)!
I went to visit a friend today who is there for rehab after knee replacement surgery. Medilodge of Port Huron is clean, the staff is friendly & helpful. The facility has a pleasant atmosphere about it. It would be a nice place for rehab.
