My mother moved here in December of 2024 and it has been a wonderful experience. Being on the elderly waiver we’re used to her not getting a very high level of service. Everyone here has been delightful to deal with, from the marketing guy to the maintenance guy, to the nursing staff. My mom has a pretty high need level and everyone has been really accommodating, patient, and helpful. I can’t tell you what a relief it is for her and my family to have found Meadow Ridge. I can’t recommend it enough!

I wish I could give zero stars. My mother-in-law lived here for 3.5 years and we became more and more concerned for her safety while living here. She has Alzheimer’s and was dependent on the care of the people at Meadow Ridge, as were we. They failed at keeping her safe and healthy. We visited at least once a week and far too often I needed to shower her, change her out of soiled pajamas that she likey had worn for a while and get her cleaned up. We would clean her room every visit since they had her eat all her meals in her room and she spills everything due to a tremor. We would often need to do laundry as it would pile up and not be done by Meadow Ridge. We brought in ant traps, cleaning supplies and our own gloves. When my MIL’s toilet overflowed, we were given a snake to fix the issue. I also swe While some aides were lovely, others often disappear behind locked doors to never be seen. I also never once saw an aide wear gloves which concerns me and they were not in rooms for them to grab. How is this safe for staff and residents?!? We met with leadership and told them of our concerns, more than once. Nothing changed. Things they agreed to, like taking her to the dining room and helping her get dressed, didn’t happen. We continued to see her being given a meal in her room and she rarely was changed. The family started sharing pictures of what she was wearing to verify. The last straw for us was my MIL was being left in her room all day and her mobility was getting worse. If you don’t use it, you lose it and she was losing it fast. She was depressed and sad all the time. This is what happens if you were left in a studio apt 24 hours a day, you would be depressed as well. This is not how I’d treat a pet, but they are treating vulnerable seniors like this. We looked for a place in western suburbs that had memory care and took elderly waiver and found a great new place in St. Louis park- Roitenberg. During the assessment to move, my MIL displayed symptoms of a stroke and the nurse from where she lives now was the one to call 911. It ended up that she was so dehydrated that they kept her for 5 days in the hospital- no stroke, just dehydration. Meadow Ridge’s response was “we can’t force residents to drink”. No, but you can offer liquids. Where she is now, they offer her liquids and she is drinking all the time. We often saw meals come to her room without a drink. Please don’t put your family member here. There are other options for people with memory issues and that accept elderly waiver. Please, please save yourself and your loved ones from this pain. We are reporting to the state but I know we looked at Google reviews as well and I hope this helps someone else. There is good care out there, but it is not found at Meadow Ridge. Since posting this review- Meadowridge has called my family asking us to take it down because this doesn’t reflect well on them. They have not expressed concern over what we experienced or the wellbeing of my MIL. We won’t be taking this down, because I want other families to be aware of what is happening here. Meadow ridge- let’s concern ourselves with improvements vs calling our family to try to get us to remove this.
I moved my mother from Missouri to be closer to me here in MN and after looking at many different senior living facilities we chose Meadow Ridge in Golden Valley. I have only nice things to say about Meadow Ridge. My mother is 84 yo with dementia and resides in the Memory Care unit there since April 2024. She has had several health and cognitive issues so I have had a lot of interactions with both the administrative and medical/nursing staff and feel good about my mother living there. I stop by on a daily basis so feel like I can give an honest and accurate review based on our experience for the past 8 months. First of all, nothing is perfect. No senior living facility will be 100% perfect all the time and family need to look at the big picture and overall package when choosing a facility. With this in mind here are a few of my thoughts. Meadow Ridge prides itself on having continuity of staff and not having to use agency which makes a big difference. All the staff- nursing/nutrition/cleaning/recreational staff know and are familiar with my mother because they see her everyday. They know her baseline and how to provide care for her. They know me and reach out to me frequently if there are any concerns or issues. The corporate/administrative and non-medical staff have been over the top helpful as well. After her first night there we made the decision as a team to move my mother from the Assisted Living to the Memory Care unit for a myriad of reasons (outside of Meadow Ridge control). My "movers" where long gone. The receptions, maintenance man, and other management staff all pitched in and moved my mom in less than a couple of hours. It was a huge relief to have them help and I felt like it was "family." Meadow Ridge feels like a small family-run center where everyone knows the clients, family, etc and look out for each other. There is a very warm feeling when you walk in the front door. My mother sees an Nurse Practitioner that is connected to Meadow Ridge. The NP sees her regularly and communicates easily with me through an online portal. The nurses and aids are easily reachable on the unit as well. I will often call and just ask how she is doing. Communication is easy and transparent. Overall I am very happy with our choice. Making the decision to move a loved one into a senior living facility is difficult and no one really knows what to expect. It is a journey and I hope this helps someone in their decision.
I'm 80 year old vulnerable adult. Security deposit was withheld 98 days I had to threaten a lawsuit, state law requires it to be returned in 21 days of moving out, No excuse was ever given. M.S.(leasing) saw resident Jerry A. walking to lunch with about 2 feet of bandage hanging out of his pant leg and did nothing, I had to get a nurse. Management also promotes conflict of interest by employee's writing reviews to make it look better. (2 nurses), 1 stolen picture, see photos
Meadow Ridge has been an excellent choice for my dad. The staff is kind and competent. The facility is clean and pleasant. He really likes it there! Update: All the Meadow Ridge staff have been very compassionate and went above & beyond while my dad was on hospice. I highly recommend this facility. I would give them 6 stars if I could.
