300 Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, NJ 08520, United States
My Mother currently lives at Meadow Lakes. The place is very nice in most respects. The grounds are beautiful and the groups and activities are excellent. There are currently two major problems. The food is sub par. A few years ago they had an actual chef, but he quit due to the funds being cut. Now they have much of the food pre prepared from a bulk dealer. Frozen French fries, pre made tuna and macaroni salad. All of terrible quality. Not too mention the inconsistency is overwhelming. Hamburger's perfectly cooked one day to a near inedible mess the next day. Overall food is getting worse and worse. The next problem is the antiquated heating and cooling system. The building switches from heating to cooling and back each year. If you get a few cold days in summer, oh well. Same thing in winter. Basically you have no control of the temperature in your apartment. It was 85 in my Mother's apartment last month. I had to take her away from the apartment for the day so she wouldn't get sick. Maybe they will address the issues, maybe not.

As we aged we moved to Meadow Lakes from Ohio to be closer to our daughters. We quickly came to appreciate why New Jersey is called the Garden State. While the grounds are beautiful, it is the people who make it special. There is an open friendliness here. Each time we pass others in the halls or across bridges connecting buildings, we exchange greetings. The staff is also welcoming, and they never fail to meet our needs in a timely manner. We have only encountered this kind of neighborliness at our yearly visit to Chautauqua. It is easy getting to know new people through the myriad of activities Meadow Lakes offers. When we arrived we were invited several times for dinner, and we were urged to join any of the activities that appealed to us. We have listened to lectures on the evolution of science, another about infinity, and still others which involved discussions about books and film. We make it a point to stay physically fit, so we are grateful that we can use the exercise room at all hours. The indoor and outdoor pools contribute to keeping us active as well as the new pickle ball court nearby. As we travel or hike around New Jersey we appreciate the location of Meadow Lakes. Only twenty minutes from Princeton and the New Jersey transit, it is ideal for traveling to New York City and Philadelphia or partaking of cultural venues and shopping experiences. It is our ninth month living at Meadow Lakes, and we couldn’t be more pleased about our choice of a Senior Community. Becky and Rob
I have now lived at Meadow Lakes for seven weeks. It has lived up to my expectations. The staff is friendly and helpful. My apartment was renovated beautifully. The setting with tall trees and the large ponds is truly special. I'm enjoying the freedom of responsibility of caring for a house and yard, and I don't have to cook dinner every day.
After much research and many visits to various continued care facilities, it was an easy decision to move to Meadow Lakes. Although we have been here only two weeks, we are rapidly making friends as everyone seems to reach out to make us comfortable in our new home. The staff is outstanding, the meals are excellent and of course the grounds are second to none. What more can we ask for as we prepare to fully enjoy the years ahead.
Attended a luncheon with an entrance discussion about joining the community. Great food, nice presentation, no high pressure on joining the community. Beautiful campus!
