I just had to move my mom from this facility yesterday. She had to go to one that has a memory care unit that was locked. I worked in nursing homes for many years so I was a little meticulous, but I loved this place. The Administrator is amazing!! I seen her many times. Usually they are behind a door and you don't even know who they are. She makes herself very visible and accessible. She even knew my mothers name which really surprised me. I have never encountered an Administrator quit like her. As far of the care of my mother, it started off rough. It was not the Nursing Assistances fault. I would come in and my mom would not have an attends on and be soaked. It was happening too often. When I talked to the Nursing Supervisor she told me my mother does herself. My mom is semi continent sometimes she knows she has to go and sometimes she does not. After, the miscommunication was cleared up with the Supervisor everything was fine. I'm not going to say my mothers pull up was never wet when I came but that will happen. You also need to keep in mind that the Assistant is the primary care person so if your having continuous issues then you will need to approach the supervisor (anywhere). This is the cleanest nursing facility I have ever been in. Also, they keep the dirty attends and linen is a closet, so there is not offensive smell. Their outgoing laundry is bad. My sister started doing it cause cloths would not come back and most got much, much, lighter as if they were old looking. Some with bleach spots. They really should consider going with another linen company. Their activity Coordinator is wonderful. The best I've seen. You might not think this is important, but it very much is. If your loved one is alert you don't want them sitting in a room all day starring at each other. My mother would not participate at first. She felt uncomfortable. I called and let the Coordinator know that my mom felt odd and she was on it. She really encouraged her and it made a big difference in her frame of mind. I came every two days so I was there often. I would strongly recommend them. As of any facility if you're having an issue you need to approach it, if it does not resolve then you need to start looking for another facility.

This is the worse experience I have ever had. My mother fell twice, taken to Agh. When we knew she was released and back at this place, we went to visit and the front desk told us that she is still at the hospital, she was not. We went into the room. It was a cluttered dirty mess. There were wet dirty towels bunched into balls under her clothing . The used a suction machine. Put the dirty wand back in to the wrap tha it came in a left the machine fill of phlegm, when we returned the next morning the machine was in the same spot a still not cleaned. There are so much other things it would take all day to write. My mother passed away. When I walked in at 9:30 pm after going home to take a shower the nurse saw me in the hall and said I’m so sorry we didn’t have your number( which I asked countless times if they did and listened to the hospice nurse give it to them) but my mother had just passed. I asked if the room needed cleaned out they said take your time. We told them we would be back in the next couple days. Upon waking up the day after my mother’s death my sister tee and I spoke to Randi the” social worker” where upon she informed us that the room had been emptied and everything thrown out. When we asked why she was VERY RUDE and when I said this is a prayer sale “excuse me! Your mother is dead so we threw everything away’ DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH A LOVED ONE
I had broken both ankles and needed skilled nursing and PT for 6 weeks. The first 34 days I was in a facility in USC which was a nightmare and I ended up in the hospital due to an infection I got there. I then went to McMurray Manor. It is exceptionally clean, all of the staff is kind, very respectful and professional. It is the antitheses of my previous facility. I highly recommend it!!!!!
My mother has been a resident at McMurray Hills Manor for several years. I have never seen a staff more caring or considerate of their residents. Unfortunately, I went through many nursing homes with my father, so I have seen the worst of the worst. MHM is always clean. Everyone here, from the administration, aides and RN’s, they are wonderful to deal with, kind and caring and they treat the residents as a person and not just a job. I wish I had found them sooner !
I’m writing this review to discourage anyone who is considering putting their loved one in this facility. My aunt was treated with neglect and was disrespected the entire time she was in there. Growing up around my aunt my entire life I have memories of her beautiful curly hair she was always dressed nice and had a clean home. To visiting her many times smelling so strong of urine because she hadn’t been changed for many hours and her hair was so dirty and greasy it stood up by itself. I can always tell what she had for lunch and dinner because it was always down the front of her gown. While being in mcmurray hills manor every ounce of dignity was taken away from her. So please don’t let your loved one go through the same neglect as my aunt.
