Stay as far away from this place as you can. The new Director of Nursing isn't professional. She has no business in this role. Her qualifications include being an LPN and a "certified life coach". She is in her position because of a legal loophole. Most Directors of Nursing for a facility this large are RN's or higher. This position is usually held by a NP which is one step below a doctor. An LPN is one step above a nurses aid. State law says you can not be a Director of Nursing at a nursing facility unless you are a RN or above. But because this place lists themselves as assisted living that qualification does not need to be met. She is extremely rude and confrontational. When you question her she gets hostile, aggressive, angry. My dad lived as a resident here in memory care unit. He has dementia. My mother has full guardianship of him. A few weeks ago a nurses aid tried to prevent him from exiting and there was a minor altercation. What happened next is truly appalling. They called the police to have my dad arrested/put on a 72 hour psychiatric hold. My father was then transported to Mercy Hospital. It turns out he had a UTI. That was the cause of his agitation. He is incontinent and this is what happens when they don't change him. The attending physician and a certified psych professional evaluated him and seen no need to hold him. What we didn't know at the time was that they were trying to press charges against my dad. The police officer told Mason Assisted Living and it's employees that he was not going to pursue charges, but if they desired to push this forward, he would present it to the prosecutor. They DID want to continue to file charges and proceeded doing so against one of their dementia residents! The prosecutor declined to move forward. We transported my dad back to Mason Assisted Living. The nurse on duty was told by Precious not to let my dad back in the building. Precious then told me that he was not allowed back until he had a psychiatric exam. When I presented her with that, it wasn't good enough. She demanded he leave right now. This is where she proves she has no business being in her role. My dad lives there and is under their care. She can not deny him entry or care, but she sure tried. When I refused, Precious said she was calling the police to have him forcibly removed. When the police responded, they tried to have the officers remove my dad from his room saying that he was trespassing. The officer refused to arrest or remove him saying this is his residence and he could not be removed. He is a dementia patient you cant just remove him and take him back to the house. He is a resident at Mason Assisted Living, my dad is under their care in a memory care unit, and they have all of his medications. Their next move was to try to physically give my dad an eviction notice. Mason Assisted Living should also know that by law you cant hand an adjudicated individual anything legal. The Executive Director Donny Dunn, said we have a litany of lawyers at our disposal, we know what we are doing. I told Donny they were absolutely not going to hand my dad anything. He excused himself to "make a copy" of something, only to return about 20 minutes later. I'm assuming they contacted their litany of attorneys and they advised him not to hand an adjudicated man anything legal. After that didn't work, Mason Living sent an eviction notice to my mom on a Saturday, saying they were removing him on Monday morning. They did this knowing that we could not seek legal council or contact anyone from the State since it was the weekend. This is known as patient dumping. Get them out before they can consult anyone on their rights or the State says you can't do that, they sell the residents space These aren't good and honest people as you can see. EDIT: To combat the lies in Mason Livings response, I've attached a picture of the official police report EDIT 2: To address their other lie of the photo's not taken at their community, here is a zoomed out photo with dirty diaper circled in red in his bathroom

We moved my MIL into their memory care a couple years ago, and aside from a few management and staff turnovers, things were going well enough. Things came to a head November 26, 2024 when my MIL was admitted to the hospital after falling out of bed. In the hospital she was diagnosed with cellulitis in her left leg, she had a severe UTI, and yeast growing... in places. The hospital staff were also extremely concerned with how weak she was. MAL&MC was supposed to be providing physical therapy for my MIL, but clearly that was not happening. She barely had enough strength to get from her wheel chair into the car upon her discharge from the hospital. My husband (her son) and I decided that while her falling from her bed is not the fault of the facility, the UTI and yeast were a clear sign that she was not being taken care of properly. She was not being bathed, and her depends were not being changed often enough. Before she was discharged from the hospital, we moved all of her stuff out MAL&MC. Even though she had been in the hospital for 3 days at this point, her room was filthy. It reeked of urine, and there was a urine filled depends hanging from her dresser drawer. There was no trash liner in the bathroom trash can, and when I attempted to empty it, urine ran out. It smelled so bad that I had to leave the room. This facility somehow lost her walker. We purchased her a brand new walker when we moved her in, and put her name on it. It is nowhere to be found. They also lost her winter coat, which also had her name on it. We had to discharge her from the hospital in 20 degree weather with NO COAT. Residents are allowed to wander the hallways, and many of my MIL's things have gone missing over the years. We ended up bringing most of her stuff back to our place for safe keeping. My MIL constantly felt like she had no privacy because residents would come into her room to use her private bathroom. All of the employees who were on staff (nurses, caregivers, management, director, receptionist, etc.) when we moved in are gone, and the ones who were there when we moved out did not seem to take any pride in their work. I get this is a tough job, and burnout is real, but our loved ones should not be left to rot in their own filth as our MIL clearly was here. My husband received a call from the director after sending an email outlining why we are removing his mom from the facility. The director seemed upset that we would not give him time to rectify the situation. He said he has been the director since May and completely turned the place around. Not sure what "completely turned around" means in his book, but if that were the case, my MIL would not have been in the situation she was in. No one in their right mind would move their loved one back into this place for a month after getting the diagnosis we did from the hospital. We signed our intent to move November 30, 2024 - 4 days after her hospital admittance. We wasted no time finding a new home for her. We were able to find a great new facility close to us that we were able to move her things into and get setup before her discharge from the hospital. I'm quite upset that we still have to pay for the 30 days after her vacating. Our moving out was a result of MAL&MC's complete lack of care. It's not like we just decided to move her randomly. MAL&MC did not hold up their end of the bargain. In my mind, they have been stealing my MIL's money for months if the "care" she was receiving landed her with medical issues caused by poor hygiene. I would avoid this place until they can get their act together, and they can own up to their mistakes. I read the review before mine, and 100% believe him after what we just went through. It's not like we wanted to spend Thanksgiving weekend moving my MIL and all her belongings - we HAD to.
Best assisted living facility in Cincy! I love all the people who provide care for my mom. Everyone speaks to me when I walk thru the front door. It's a newer facility and reminded my mom of home. I can't say enough good things about this home! Check it out!
The facility is emmaculant. There is above and beyond attention to detail. Gorgeous rooms and living space. The best part of Mason Assisted Living is the staff. Holly was exceptional and Precious is a rock star. ( She is kind, knowledgable, patient and sincere). Great job, Mason Assisted Living.
To start of the facility is beyond beautiful and inviting. The residents and staff both looked happy to be there. I didn’t mean to listen but, the few snippets of conversation I heard were positive as well. It seems as though you have a facility that truly is a community. Secondly, I wanted to tell you how amazing Ms Reva at the front desk was. I came in tonight with the group of folks leading a Bible study from Mason Church of God. Right away she asked my name and introduced herself, she welcomed me and was extremely helpful to answer any questions I had. She was beyond polite and she made me feel welcomed joking with us and picking out fun bracelets for our group. I hope if I come back I get to see Ms Reva, she truly was a joy to talk with.
