I just don’t know where to start. I was hired as a contractor in the salon. There are a few department heads who are awesome just to point that out first. I enjoy working with seniors and have for 10 years caring for them. It’s in my opinion, the staff morale is low, little communication or team work. The salon needs new plumbing and equipment badly. There was atleast 6 light bulbs out with no maintenance response to replace and no hot water half the time. I never knew when I was getting paid. The director was never to be seen nor was I greeted by her. I was greeted by an angry nurse to give me a TB test my first week and went to stick the needle near my surgery site where I had stitches from melanoma, and I stopped her, and she yelled at me. There was always a few aids that went beyond their duty, but a lot of of them were chitchatting instead of working. I stuck it out through Christmas but I left due to a knee injury. I was told I had a possible tear in my meniscus and let them know that they should hire another stylist because it could take weeks to heal and I didn’t want the residents to be without a salon. The building manager was rather cold about my leaving and told me I had taken cash where services were not rendered. So I never got my last paycheck. I have records to prove cash payments hadn’t been delivered to me since Decembers pay check but it’s only a few dollars. This is a contract position too. If they are that bad at handling cash, maybe all salon transactions should be billed to the resident account and keep cash out of the equation. However, It’s in my opinion, she just didn’t like me after telling her how much a liability her plumbing was and she decided to not mail me a check. Can we not just be honest and stay professional ? One day, the water was shut off without my knowledge and I had just did a High light. It’s a liability people! I need water to rinse bleach. Warm water preferably! It’s just very disappointing and very disappointing for the people living there.

PLEASE!!!! Do not send you love one too this place. My sister was treated horrible they never hardly ever changed their clothes. She was always dirty. Her room was always dirty and they wouldn’t get her out of bed half the time because she needed help and they constantly ask her for money that she didn’t have. She fell out of bed ones and she was always covered in bruises, which I don’t know how she got most of those, but the whole experience was horrible..
Do not send your family to this place! My loved one was there for just over 2 months. He has Dementia and we needed somewhere quickly so this was the place we chose. He fell numerous times which seemed to have worsened his condition. Towards the end of his time there they sent him to the hospital because they thought he fractured his arm because it swelled up like a balloon. No one could give an explanation as to what happened. He was bed bound so we were trying to figure out how he could have either fallen or maybe hit something... he didn't. It was fluid retention. In that hospital visit they also found a UTI, pneumonia and stage 3 wounds on his back. He did not go back to this place. I'm not sure how any of that can be missed if he was getting proper treatment. Please avoid this place!
Had a customer who brought her mother in to get her hair done that was staying at this place, she was 76 with dementia and a broken wrist. As a local hairdresser most everyone that brings a loved one in from a nursing facility usually the resident is clean. This resident was not clean, reeked of urine, had not had her hair washed (clean) in awhile. She fell and daughter said she laid there for an hour in this hell hole. The stories from her and her daughter were nightmarish. I would never put a loved one in a place like this.
Do not send your loved ones here! My relative was covered in her own body fluids for who knows how long before my mom came to visit and had to get someone to clean her up. Mind you she is in a pull-up and her bed was covered in easily 2-3 times of going. They obviously have no remorse or it wouldn’t happen to her and so many others I’ve been reading stories about. This place needs to be shut down.
