I was here for a total knee replacement two years ago. The experience was amazing. All of the staff from aides to nurses to therapist to social workers to the house keeping staff were very professional, caring and sensitive to my needs. The food wasn’t very good though. I returned there a couple weeks ago for the other knee. I never thought that I would be saying that I experienced the same treatment but it was better! My aides were the kindest young ladies you ever want to meet. They were very attentive to my needs as well as my roommate’s. The nurses were phenomenal as well as my physical therapists. Every employee that I came in touched were the same! I literally almost cried when I was discharged. The only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars was because the food wasn’t very good. I recommend MHC to anyone. Love the staff and I give them 5 stars!

Short Staffed, long time to wait for help, physical therapy is at best a minimal and not a huge help for those who need it, and it's a lonely place for those who are admitted. My Wife is there for Hip Replacement Therapy and they're doing little to nothing to do anything for her rehabilitation. I bring her food because what they bring her is usually cold and not very pleasing to the taste. I will say that there are a few people there who are very nice and helpful when you can get their assistance. They need more people employed there and give them a good pension plan so that there will be a better retention.
It cannot be easy working in Martinsburg due to cuts in funding, transportation for seniors, the SES of Martinsburg, and the odd way that agencies tend to not communicate with each other. Despite this, they and their staff, especially Kristin Hummel, worked hard to make sure my father made progress and were in constant communication with my family, moreso than any other agency has been since I have lived here as an adult. I really appreciate all they have done and how many efforts they made. I look forward to their continued work and growth within the company. I only hope that other agencies work as hard as they do.
Stonerise is an amazing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center . I arrived at Stonerise on July 15, 2022 for rehabilitation after back surgery . Choosing Stonerise was the best decision I ever made. The staff were phenomenal. Everyday my therapists Justin and Danielle greeted me with huge smiles on their faces and eager to conquer new goals in my therapy sessions. Together they helped me regain my ability to stand up , walk with my walker, climb stairs, dress myself (complete all personal care), safely navigate my way around a kitchen, found and fitted me with proper foot braces to help with my severe foot contractures , and beyond that they gave me my dignity, independence , and self respect back and quickly became my friends . To say they are special people is an understatement ! Every staff member at Stonerise was great ! My nurses and aides were fantastic , - Vanessa, Carol, Sandra, Rachel and more. All of the aides ! Admissions Alex, all activities girls , and Brooke who looked after me! Thank you so much for everything you all did ! You ALL got me home to my Family and back to myself and life. I would not be walking today if it was not for the incredible team of people at Stonerise . I give 1,000 Stars. Thank You , Jamie Ishman
Avoid at all costs. If another place costs more, pay the difference. If it's further away, go the extra distance. If someone tells you this place is acceptable, do not listen. If you love your loved one, do not send them here under any circumstances. We were fortunate that our Father survived. Only after multiple complaints by multiple family members, daily calls to make sure care was provided was there even the slightest pretense of concern for the health of our dad. Falsified charting, medication including breathing treatments not administered as prescribed, left in bed with multiple broken ribs for an entire weekend (a huge risk for pneumonia), and an unwillingness to accept responsibility for their actions. I am a nurse. The practices at this facility endanger lives. My heart breaks for those poor residents who do not have involved, persistent family members to stand in the gap and protect them from this horror show.
