I had high hopes for my experience at Marshall Manor when I signed up for the CNA class, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment. When I initially inquired about the classes, I was upfront about my situation—my husband is disabled and has a doctor's appointment coming up, which meant I would need to miss just one day of the two-week course. The person I spoke to during enrollment seemed understanding and accommodating. However, when I called to confirm the class dates, I was met with a completely different attitude. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of addressing my concerns, she made it clear that I was not a priority and blamed me for my personal circumstances. I thought she understood because she said her husband had been disabled too. It felt like I was being spoken down to, and her condescending tone was really uncalled for. I understand that attendance is crucial for such courses, but I don't believe a little empathy and understanding is too much to ask for. If missing one day due to a personal matter is a dealbreaker, I would have appreciated a clearer message from the start, rather than the switch in tone I experienced. It’s disheartening to expect support and professionalism only to be met with rudeness. It raises concerns about how she interacts with other employees and patients, or even her class especially considering her rudeness and unprofessional behavior toward me over the phone while trying to fill her class. Overall, I cannot recommend Marshall Manor based on this experience. Customer service is key in any educational environment, and my interaction left much to be desired. If you have any personal matters to attend to, I suggest looking elsewhere, as they may not accommodate your needs in a respectful manner.

My husband was there about a year ago. Care was about average. He was there for rehab, but had other health issues also. Rehab went really well; nursing staff was adequate, although they forgot to hook him up correctly to his oxygen twice; some CNA's cared, others were obviously there just to put in a days work; he enjoyed the food! My reason for writing today is the administration. We don't live in Guntersville, so I have called 6 times in the past 4 mons, left massages and written a letter once & NO ONE returns my call. I am trying to get a billing question answered. It took 11months to get a bill to me to begin with, with no explanation as to what days or services insurance did not cover. I am very frustrated. Don't expect good "customer service" if you use this facility.
My mom almost died from being given insulin without checking her sugar. Her sugar got so low she was unconscious. I can’t prove it but would not be surprised if that was what caused her death last November.
Serving as a Hospice Chaplain for the last 3.5 years I frequent many facilities through out the North Alabama region. Marshall Manor is one of the finest. They have a caring committed staff from the administrator (Linda) ,nurses, to the kind aides. The facility is kept clean and so are the patients. Most importantly the residents are valued and loved and that is demonstrated every day.
My husband spent over 6 weeks at Marshall Manor rehabilitation center with a broken bone in his hip, the staff and PT’s were extremely concerned, professional and wonderful with his therapy. I would recommend this rehab facility to anyone. Every one was very friendly and helpful and he’s walking again. They really know what they’re doing..
