Arrogant medical staff. Medical staff made treatment decisions based on intake assessment instead of evaluating symptoms that occurred 3 days post intake. No doctor or nurse practitioner bothered to evaluate the patient when she was complaining of extreme pain before making medication decisions, and ignored recommendations from hospice nurse. Arrogant LPN who asked patient to state her pain level from 1-10, and when patient replied 9, the LPN said "you don't look like you're a 9." Definitely a "we know best" philosophy that does not prioritze the patient. When patient was being cleaned by nurses, family was subjected to listening to patient screaming "I hope you are killing me because I can't take any more of this." Horrific experience. We moved her to the nursing facility at the Kenwood Senior Star where she had wonderful, patient centric and empathetic care. What a mistake to subject our mother to MPL.

If you’re thinking about joining the dining staff here don’t do it .. they use personal feelings to make decisions and try to force you to work every holiday I recently just had a newborn and my fiancé had a minor setback because they kept denying my request off and unfortunately, they pretty much was trying to make me choose my job over my family so again, if you have smaller kids, don’t work here
I am grateful for the exceptional care my mother received at MPL. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that this facility is a sanctuary of compassion and professionalism. The staff’s genuine empathy and dedication created an environment where my mother felt safe, valued, and truly cared for. The personalized attention and activities offered were remarkable, providing not only physical comfort but also emotional and mental stimulation. MPL fostered a sense of community, keeping us closely involved in her care. While saying goodbye was incredibly difficult, knowing that my mother was in such a loving and supportive environment brought us immense comfort. I wholeheartedly recommend MPL to anyone seeking a nurturing and respectful place for their loved ones.
My relative started in memory care and then to long term care. We recently moved him out of this facility due to the following; forgetting to give medication to over dosing. The techs did nothing for his care and we’re on their personal phones or doing their nails. When asked for help they were too busy to change diaper, clean room, complete laundry. They lost clothing, personal items and glasses always blaming the resident. The management team made excuses for everything from the day we moved in. Warning to anyone considering Marjorie P Lee, do not bring your loved ones here! They are not being taken care of properly and management is doing nothing to correct problems. I have placed my relative in another facility and the level of care is beyond MPL.
What a wonderful, clean and personable retirement home/ rehabilitation facility. Top of the line people and well cared for residents all working together to form a family. I can't say enough good things about them. They speak for you themselves as well.
