Just moved Mom and Dad here and very happy with the move. Definitely some ups and downs during the transition period but the executive director, Joey Estrella means it when he says "The answer is YES. Now what is your request?". When we told him our parents typically enjoyed a 3pm tea time, he started a regular tea time event in the lovely sun room with other residents. When we asked if we could move a bed into Mom's room so that we could sleep over the first two nights to ease her anxiety, he said yes, although it's a highly unusual ask. We did the same in Dad's room. The food is OUTSTANDING. The staff is caring. The facility is CLEAN (thanks, Tracy!). The garden is lovely. There is a homey feel. Not glitzy but feels like a family. The rooms are "studios" but large and lovely. We have high hopes.

My mother was at Marian for 3 years. We found the employees to be very caring. I visited my mother very often and was always impressed with the cleanliness and maintenance of the the facility. Joey, the manager is experienced and on a number of occasions has gone above and beyond to help us. We previously had my mother at another facility that was more expensive. Even though Marian was less expensive it provided greater value. I highly recommend Marian Assisted Living.
We never envisioned three years ago we would not be able to keep our mom home with us so needing to seek Assisted Living was an incredibly difficult decision. Marian Assisted Living made the decision easier from the very first time we walked in the door. Doreatha, of Marian Assisted Living, is the quintessential professional with a refreshing welcome to all. She selflessly devotes herself to the residents and families and she cultivates these traits in her loyal team. The warm and caring environment of Marian provides our family with the Peace of Mind that our mom is always well-cared for when we cannot be there. Doreatha, Irene, Tracy, Oscar, the Chefs, Aids and ALL the staff are outstanding, professional, prompt, proficient, very caring, compassionate, and engaged with the residents. They always provide delicious meals, a safe, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained environment. They really know each individual resident and family which allows them the ability to provide such an amazing living environment for our mom. If you have a suggestion, concern, anything, the Staff, Management and/or Corporate are always available. They genuinely care about our mother. She is family to them and not a number. We have been at Marian Assisted Living for over three years and they still continue to exceeded all of our expectations in finding a special place that provides the professional care our mother requires daily while always maintaining a loving family environment for our mom to age in place.
It is always difficult to make the decision to put a parent in a facility. When it came time to put mom we visited Marion and loved the room size. Soon after that Director left and we had some bumps but Doretha the Assistant Director was always there to do whatever she could. When we put Mom in Hospice Joey the new Director was really making everything better. Irene, Sandy, Doretha, Flora and so many more of the staff made mom's end of life have dignity and it was obvious they cared. When she wpuld hallucinate that she wss home she would ask to go back to Marion. That was the staff. They held her up as well as the family. If you are looking to make that hard decision, consider Marion. I know your loved one will be cared for by the best group of people you could ask for.
This is my Mom's 4th facility and the first she hasn't cried about. There have been bumps in the road but, the new Executive Director seems very interested in hearing my concerns and working towards making positive changes. My heart melted as I watched Dorethea lay on the floor, comforting a patient who had fallen and was waiting for the ambulance crew to arrive. Doralee is always smiling no matter how difficult my mother is being. The last facility Mom lived in served microwaved mush. Mom does not call to complain about the food at MH. The chef and kitchen staff work hard to provide good food and a varied menu. If you are looking for the perfect place, don't move your loved one to MH. If you are looking for staff that will care about your loved one, a director who listens, a clean facility ( thanks Miss Tracy) with good food and good activities, this may be the place.
