Do not send your loved ones here. They let patients who are non verbal and bed bound to fall out the bed. And the staff didn’t notice until someone walked pass the room.

I gave this facility the review that it deserved aproximately three months ago, however, my review was not accepted/posted. I gave it one-star but if "no-stars" were an option, it would have been that. My mother lasted in this facility 10-days before she passed awary. The lobby furniture was filthy. The first rooms that you walked past were acceptable, however, that's a setup. Mom was on the dementia unit, my sister was not able to visit that unit before she was admitted. She was told that there was a Covid outbreak and she could not go over there. The room was old with pealing wall paper held together with staples. It was dark and gloomy. The chest of drawers were cheap, wooden and very old. When my sister opened the drawer there were dirty clothes left in there from the previous patient. The toilet didn't work. While visiting my mother one evening a mouse scurries across the room. When I got the nurse her response was, "Oh, you're afraid of them?" For the sake of space and time, I will just say this . . . DO NOT have your loved one admitted to this facility. It breaks my heart that we were not able to take my mother out of that place before she passed away.
Absolutely the worst facility, the social worker never came to the room to talk with us. I stayed 1 hr. The DON would not take my complaint , the unit manager told me to fill out a compliant form. They took down my number and that was it. I visited my mother in love and it was feces on the floor , she was wet with urine from 2 shifts per the Aide because she refused. (She is deemed incapable) so you should find ways to get it done. No one should be soaked in urine. She has severe arthritis she can’t even twist a top it was 1:30 when we arrive the lid was on her food , She cannot remove it. still nothing was opened for her carton of juice , milk nothing no call light near. This was her lunch still sitting there cold at 1:30pm. I can’t begin to express my issues from the moment you walk in the door.
Now I see why my other loved ones do not want to go to a nursing home. My grandfather was there for 5 years. I seen him sitting in soiled sheets. In a dark room. Times I had to ask the nurses to change his sheets. Building stinks. Came from Philly to a scheduled visit to find out my Pop Pop wasn't there. No remorse. Except for one lady and the supervisor . Thanks for that. The day my grandfather was on hisdeathbed, the facility was quiet, with staff acting nervous and with attitudes. I am so sad, but grateful enough to have been by his side the day he passed. To Pop Poproommate, thank you for being kind. To the staff who showed love and kindness to my grandfather, thank you.
I was a patient on the TSU unit after bilateral total knee replacement surgery. I was unfamiliar with the agency so I looked it up on google. I was horrified when I saw the negative comments. I even had nightmares. Because my insurance only approved Manor Care and one other place I resolved to go there and make the best of it. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. I was met at the door by the assistant administrator. She escorted me and the ambulance attendant to the unit. The staff on the unit greeted me and made me feel comfortable and welcome. The room was neat and clean. The next day I met the PT and OT staff. They were excellent. I went to the gym and it was very professional. I can tell you that I do not think I could have received better care anywhere. I know that some people are upset when they here the term nursing home as was I. That being said Manor Care staffing was excellent. I noticed how they work together as a team to provide the best care. I achieved my goals and was able to walk out and return home. I am great full for the Care I received. I want to say to people that are considering placement at Manor Care there is always a mechanism for your concerns to be addressed. Every day the unit manager asked me is everything all right. How are you being treated. Do you have any complaints. I did not but I know that if I had any they would have been addressed. Thank you for listening.
