We moved my mom here after a pretty horrible experience at another facility. The staff is attentive and responsive. Calls are answered and communication is good. There are no shared rooms here. Every resident gets their own, private space. All of the rooms I've seen are bright and well taken care of. I'm happy, my mom is happy and I'm pleased with her new home. Thank you, Linden Grove. I can sleep peacefully at night knowing my mom is in a good place.

My mother was in Linden Grove. I was genuinely excited for her to be there as the room was bright and she had privacy as each room is a single room. They also said they were going to take her out of bed to start working on her strength and brought a special chair to her room to help with that. Unfortunately, it was all talk with no action. They never took her out of bed and I think she was bathed once while she was there. I had to clean her when I visited. The staff was always extremely slow to respond when I pushed the button for assistance, once time waiting for hours with no response until I went walking around to find someone and was told they were short staffed. I found my mother non responsive multiple times when visiting and had to call an emergency ambulance. The Linden Grove staff was completely unaware every time. The last time I visited her, it was clear that she was in extreme duress. She was sweating profusely and her breathing sounded like a truck where she was gasping for air. I immediately called the staff in and was actually told that the medical staff visited her that same day for her weekly check. I was dumbfounded. How could they have had a medical professional check her and leave her in that condition? It was clear that didn't happen and someone just said they checked on her, but didn't. Or if they did, they should have their medical license revoked. I'm not in the medical profession, but it was abundantly clear that she was not ok. I ended up calling an ambulance and having her taken to the hospital. She was sick with an infection and had a raging fever and was not getting nearly enough oxygen. These are things you don't even need equipment to see. She was in the ICU for over 10 days at the hospital to recover from this. I just can't understand how no one on the staff noticed her condition and just walked by her, nor did anyone call us. Thankfully, I checked on her often. I took the time to meet with their director or nursing after the last incident to express my extreme frustration and disappointment in their lack of care for my mother. I would expect taking vitals would be routine, especially for someone who is lower functioning like my mother was. The staff didn't even know how to take vitals. You bring your loved one to a place like this, pay thousands and thousands of dollars, only for them to be neglected. It's really sad.
I was very grateful for the caring response when my friend recently needed a new home where she would be cared for well after major surgery. My friend enjoys the meals and conversation shared with others. The common rooms are bright / well-kept and each resident is able to make their room homey with cherished belongings. We have appreciated the support given in this transition. Thank you.
My friend was a patient at this facility recently. She was treated disrespectfully and inhumanely on numerous occasions by the aides who were supposed to be caring for her. In fact, she feared being mistreated further if she pointed out their behavior. This woman was a very bright, clear-headed, gifted person with a good sense of humor who enjoyed socializing and being active in her community. In fact, she would've enjoyed meeting and getting to know her caregivers had they been decent to her. My friend reported that she was left alone all day (until dinner time) without being checked on for her first day in the unit, and then several times after that. As somebody unable to walk unassisted, this meant she was unable to use the bathroom all day. Additionally, she told me she heard staff/aides refer to her as “Moose” when leaving the room. Unbelievable. How degrading. It would've been easier on her if she hadn't been so sharp; maybe she wouldn't have been aware of how she was being treated and wouldn't have lost hope and wanted to die. Is there no accountability? Who's running this place? Is there a supervisor working? I can’t believe you even have a 3-star rating.
Negative stars!!!!!!!! In my opinion and experience, dealing with Linden Grove Communities-The Courts Waukesha was like a nightmare that never ended, the worst two years of my life. The memory care unit has some of the most vulnerable residents and I have seen animals treated better. I have a full-time job, but this quickly became my second and not as an employee. I wish I could have had the opportunity to move my mom sooner. There are better places out there. Like countless others, It was one of the hardest decisions I had to make for my mom, placing her care and giving blind trust to strangers, but boy did they sell me in the beginning. I quickly learned how poorly it was managed, starting at the TOP, a constant revolving door of staff, never knowing who is in charge. The caregivers that cared were left without the proper tools or assistance to do their job. Overworked, underappreciated and ultimately many left throughout this time. The others seemed to be there just for a paycheck, more interested in their smart phones than the residents. A certificate of any sort is not required to work in a CBRF facility. I could list all the terrible quality of care issues and occurrences, but this review would be even lengthier so here are just a few. When I couldn’t be there to do ALL of the care for her, she was left without being provided basic daily needs. My biggest issue was her medication not given when scheduled or sometimes at all, leaving her in a state of fear and agitation. She would be left in the same clothes multiple days in a row, not being provided a weekly shower which resulted in a horrible peri-area rash. It was only treated daily if I was there to apply the ointment. Meals not provided on time and often served cold. (I regularly helped serving) Her room was not cleaned, bedding changed, or laundry washed. I was constantly informing management, filing grievances as to what was happening and the horrific things I witnessed, including documentation and pictures. There was never any accountability, just excuses and finger pointing. Be patient I was told, give the new director of nursing and charge nurse time to get acclimated and implement the procedures. Instead of that happening, there was just a revolving door of both, each trying to reinvent the wheel without follow through. It got to the point where I didn’t know where else to turn so, I contacted the state. That helped for a hot minute and then it was back to business as usual. Their mission statement “We strive to bring dignity, vibrance, and love to the lives of older individuals and the families we serve throughout the Midwest.” My mom was not treated with dignity, I don’t know how they sleep at night or are even able to continue to operate. They should be ashamed of themselves.
