I thoroughly enjoyed working with the staff and Residents at Life Care Cape Girardeau. I was welcomed with smiles from all. The staff work hard to give good care. Their recent community, family, resident Easter Egg hunt is just one of the activities that show they care. Thank you for all you do!

My father went to this nasty facility. My mother went to this facility. Both perished pretty quickly. The nurse’s put my mother in the VERY last room in the 300 wing & left her to die. I had to request them repeatedly to bathe her & change her gown. I was there 4 days in a row and each day the items (water glasses, towels, wash rags which were very rough like coarse sand paper) that I gave her water from before leaving for the night) was still exactly where I left them. She was extremely dehydrated so that her mouth & lips were glued together. Her eyes were matted up….AND… SHE HAD A BED SORE ON HER LOWER BACK NEAR HER TAILBONE THE SIZE OF A LARGE CANTALOUPE BECAUSE SHE WAS NEVER TURNED & THEY LEFT HER FLAT OF HER BACK FOR WEEKS. I WASN'T AWARE OF IT UNTIL 3 DAYS BEFORE SHE DIED‼️ AVOID THIS FACILITY AT ALL COSTS ‼️ The front entrance may look inviting but take a field trip through the halls. She was in room 321…. Many hole & plastered spots on the walls. They never swept or cleaned her room, she had no tv, the blind in the window was broken…most of all…They neglected her until her death. Hope you make the right decision… we didn’t ‼️ If it would be possible to rate this facility —100 instead of just one star , I would rate this facility deeply in the negative ! If I knew how to post a picture… I would leave an image of a horrific view of my mothers’ lower back(what they call a Kennedy Ulcer) 1 Because she was never turned which “they” called it a Bed Sore if someone could.
Posting for a friend that was in the facility. Bed was awful sagging , lumpy like sleepimg on springs. I know I spent the night. Service in most part poor. Reaction time for call for help was an hour most time. One time it was six hours with numerous people asking for help to get patient from wheel chair to bed after pt. Bed sores because of poor help. Was taken back to hospital because of complications from stay at facility I would rate a zero if I could
OMG Watch your belongings when you stay here! I gad a friend of mine admitted for physical therapy. His wife brought him many sets of Addis jogging pants, shorts, and underarmor shirts and underwear. Within the first 24 hours of admittance, much if it was stolen out of his drawers on his room while he was sleeping!!! His wife advised the receptionist of the issue and asked to speak to the administrator. He was not on site, and to date has not returned her calls. The person she talked to also advised that in addition to the problem, they are experiencing a rash of cell phone thefts as well. Her husband tonite, was not answering his phone, and no one at the facility is picking up calls after 7pm. She called Cape PD for a welfare check, they refused saying it happens all the time there!! Yesterday Aug 19th, when she went to talk to the reception, she told them she observed an employee with a leopard pattern bag, with pink trim loading a bunch of straws into her handbag. Theft is apparently common there. The carpet at the entrance looks as if it hasn't been cleaned for quite some time. THIS PLACE HAS ISSUES!! Praying for my friend... **Update** The reason they didn't answer incoming calls last night is because they "neglected" to switch the phone to someone else to answer. *Update 2* The director said to me, no one called Cape Girardeau Police and asked for a welfare check. HE LIED.
Care was overall very good. Nice room and facilities. Very difficult to reach anyone for issues with home set ups after we left. 3 weeks and still waiting for PT set up via social services Nurses were accessible 24/7 if mom had issues or I had questions which was great. I could get in before or after hrs if mom needed me which was great
