i was here as a cna student for clinical. the cnas here mistreat the patients. yell at them, ignore them when they ask for help, etc. basically, they abuse them, because half of the patients aren’t oriented enough to report the abuse. it’s sad. my first day i watched the cnas do completely opposite of what was taught during the course. they don’t care what happens to them. the staff here are rude and are not built to handle/care for elders. this is the truth, dont really care if this gets me in trouble as im no longer interested in being a cna anyways

Sad that patients are left in their wheel chairs by the nurse's station that there's barely room to walk. And staff can't handle patients with dementia so they ask to have them sedated to the point they no longer can talk. Wish I could post a photo of how my family member has changed in the one month she has been here. I cry every time I leave there. Guess its the norm for these types of facilities cuz I've been looking elsewhere and nobody's rated good.
Our family feels very blessed to have found this place. Our only regret is we wished we found it sooner. At first glance we were concerned because the facility could use some updating which they are slowly doing. Actually the rehab center is already updated and really nice. The assisted living apartments are spacious, the food was actually good, the price is really competitive, and it was a good location for us. It's a family run business and the owner is very accommodating and involved. I swear he was always there every time we stopped in. One really unique feature here is they also have a daycare facility located in the building. They have the young kids do some activities with the seniors. It is a really neat to experience and just adds something magical to the place. I actually broke into tears when I watched the seniors and small children playing balloon volleyball, parachute, playing with bubbles, and even doing excersize together. They also did art projects together too. You have to see it to really appreciate just how incredible it is. My dad was immediately much happier here. He made friends quickly with the residents and staff. He got involved in all the activities and was always busy doing something. He actually stopped asking to go back home. He was finally comfortable which was a huge weight lifted off our shoulders. Unfortunately my dad was only there a few months before he ended up in hospice. Because Libertyville Manor is also a skilled nursing facility and takes hospice patients we found it comforting that he could go back to a place he was comfortable and already knew people. It was easier for my dad and for us. We were really impressed by all the staff at Libertyville Manor. My dad always had nice things to say about them but those last few days we saw for ourselves just how wonderful everyone really was. Every single day several non-nursing staff would come by to check on my dad. They really seemed to care about him. They all had stories to share about my dad and even cried with us. They were always making sure my dad was comfortable but they even went out of their way to make sure we were ok. We also found that the nurses at Liberyville Manor seemed better than the ones that stopped by from Hospice. My sister and I made the mistake thinking shiny and new was better but my dad didn't care about that stuff. It's the staff that makes the difference and this place is really special. Also, I really have to think the negative reviews I see have to be people confusing this place with ManorCare in Libertyville. Unfortunately we also had experience there and they really are awful but that is a completely different entity across town. I would recommend this place to anyone needing rehab or long term care. They are wonderful.
I have a friend who says this is the best place they have lived in. While visiting, I notice it is very clean and the staff is friendly. There are fun events for those who socialize. I don't give 5 stars because I think they are understaffed.
Watched a woman asking for help to go to the bathroom, needless to say she was ignored by the “nurses” sitting and doing NOTHING but discussing their weekends and the schedule!! When I said something I was dismissed just like the patient!!!
