I took my daughter to visit her Grandmother on Halloween, 10/31/24. When we arrived, the bed had feces all over it. It was on the pillows, sheets, blankets, railings, and her pajamas. There were so many flies all over landing on everything and everyone. She then soiled herself and still needed to go to the bathroom more. I called for a nurse to come help her get to the bathroom and get cleaned up. We waited over 15 mins before anyone responded or came. We were given the excuse for such a delay, that it was shift change and dinner time and they were busy. The feces all over on her bed had to have been there much longer. It was drying out and the flies all over also are evidence to not proper cleanliness and care for an extended amount of time. I did not get the name of the nurse that came to assist her. We left right after so that she could have some privacy and save her some dignity while getting cleaned up.

A family member moved in on May 22 and the laundry staff promptly put someone else's name in an article of clothing. My family member left the Manor on June 13. In mid-August, my family member's article of clothing was found in another resident's room and returned to me. So it was missing for 3 months. In that time, I had replaced it. I sent two letters asking for reimbursement of the item I purchased and received no response. I finally called and talked to Debbie, the Administrator, who told me she would not reimburse me, called me Brenda and hung up on me. I don't care that I won't be reimbursed. I called back and asked for the number of the corporate office. I was told to leave my number and they would have the corporate office call me. Of course, that was a lie. I ended up calling Liberty Village in another city to get the phone number. EDIT: I was finally reimbursed for the article of clothing that was missing, but I had to go over the Administrator's head.
The staff are very attentive, clean facility, no odors, very warm and inviting common areas. Exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Liberty Village of Pekin to any of my family and friends. The Bounce Back Team delivered an individualized treatment plan that was centered around not only the needs but the goals to return home. My mother was very well cared for and I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did to make this part of her journey a success. Thank you!
My wife's grandfather stayed here for a while before he passed. Get to know some of the staff. Take care of them and they will take care of your loved one. We tried to be engaged with the people working there. It helps. Nothing bad to say about our experience.
I'm just too disgusted to find the words.. put call button out of patients' reach so they can't use it. Call button at nurses station went off for over 30 minutes without being addressed. My mom is sitting here in a dirty wheelchair and dirty clothes and it's after 5pm. Room table pushed back where she can't reach it and she is dehydrated. Too much else to list. Understaffed is such an understatement. Horrible place. Sat in filthy clothes and wheelchair.
