My husband was there for rehab recently. He is a type 1 diabetic, amputee and working hard to save his other foot. He had had surgery on his remaining foot and we wanted to build up his strength and improve his transfers with a slide board so no weight was put on his remaining foot. The facility is beautiful and it is kept very clean. We started out with a rough start when told by nurses and aides that there were no bedside commodes. That ended up not being true. Once we got over that hurdle things got much better. The nurses were fine and the aides were remarkable. The aides were so caring and helpful. Rehab was outstanding. That department is a jewel for the facility. Becky, in social services, was so helpful and kind. She is definitely an asset to the facility. Dietary, unfortunately, was lacking. No one from the dietary department came to talk to us. The food was high carb, low protein. Usually protein shakes to aid in healing are available. None were offered. Initially we were told they had no unsweetened tea but that was not true. I ended taking Mike home early because his blood sugars were high and levels under 200 are needed for healing. If they could improve on their dietary department and provide healthier, tasty foods this facility could be the best in the area. Caring was definitely there!

My bed-confined friend was moved this morning to a new room here at Manor Court but was told her call button “probably didn’t work.” Later she had a serious need for cleanup and had been trying the call button for an hour. I happened to visit her just then and confirmed it was not working. No one was at the nurses’ station, all offices were empty, no one was at the reception desk. I finally located one person with a name tag who ran to summon a CNA. My friend had been calling out but the door to her room was closed. No one could hear her. And she has had bed sores for two months. Only when she was taken to the hospital was she showed how to sleep without pain, on her side, with special pillows they gave her.
Horrible place for anyone to have to stay at from the care ,food, and keeping something that does not belong to them ! My aunt is in the hospital with pneumonia now, they kept her in an area infested with covid , the food wasn't fit to eat, and thet kept the roses I sent her for Easter that had arrived on the Friday before and didn't give them to her till the day after Easter...they assured me that they would take them to her the same day I called ! Please don't allow your loved ones in this place !!!
I worked here for about 2 years and I will say it was an overall good place to work. Management, in most situations, was very understanding and helpful. To all the bad reviews, I will say until you're a CNA working in a long-term care facility, you will never understand just how hard it is to satisfy every resident and every family member they have. CNAs go through a lot just to make it through one shift. You'll never quite understand until you've walked that road. Let's give a little more grace.
My Hubby's stay was a nightmare to say the least! My interaction with the DON and certain CNAs was even worse! I will NEVER refer anyone to this place EVER! Enough said! He's been gone a year now and the worse part of his illness was his short stay at Manor Court! You know who you are and I will never forget! Forgive, I have to, forget I'd like to. He possibly would have starved had I kept him there because they would not let me feed him either. 😡
