I find it interesting that no one responds to these negative reviews. It confirms that they really don't care about peoples concerns. The move in's and move out's are a scam. They force movers to purchase a certificate of insurance which covers damages to the property and buildings so why they would charge their residents $300 for any damage on the move is a double dip. We put a 1" scratch on the corner wall, no hole, and our client was charged $300 for a simple job that would have taken a janitor 5 minutes to repair. I am sure they have the hallway paint, sandpaper and spackle on site. I see this as taking advantage of our parents when they are at their most vulnerable. Absolutely no recommendation! We ended up paying for the damage so our client would not have to. Unlike Leisure World, we take care of those who support us by using our company. We will not go there again! Felix Charm City Movers

Happiest day of our lives was moving out of Leisure World. They had 29 different and poorly managed HOA's, an out of control nasty building manager who intimidated and threatened residents, lawyers who routinely assisted them in threatening residents with phony charges with enormous fines. Elder abuse at its best.
I have lived in Leisure World for ten years. It has been a very good experience. You can stay as busy as you want. If you do not drive there is a bus service that runs Monday through Saturday. There is a Catholic Church and an Ecumenical building for other faiths to worship with in walking distance or a short drive if you wish. There is a shopping center right outside the main gate. The grocery store is a newly renovated Super Giant. There is a medical center inside Leisure World and a medical building with Community Radiology outside in the shopping center. There is the Aspen Hill Shoping Center and Del Mercado Shopping Center with in 10 Minutes. The facilities are very good. There are restaurants, an indoor and outdoor pool, a full gym, golf, card games, and 40 some hobby groups. A library and theater for plays, musicals and movies. There are plenty of trails to walk around and wild life. A great place to live.
A nice place for your loved ones. My mother in law live here and they have good service and responsive too in any of your concerned. The place is safe and clean. Giant, Ledo Pizza, and Burger King are places that Mom loves to go whenever we visit her, its just so near and it has wide parking lot too.
Not just for the geriatric. I have friends in their late 50"s who love living at Leisure World. The grounds are always well kept, you can walk around safely any time of the day or night and there's a free shuttle that makes it easy to live without a car. I have a not-that-old, somewhat disabled sister who moved there a couple of months ago. She has much more freedom now, can get herself to the doctor and grocery store without any help, and she says all the neighbors are very friendly and helpful.
