Our social worker Heather has been wonderful. She goes above and beyond for her patients and she is very caring and loving. She was very dedicated to making an impact on Alex's life. We can't say enough wonderful things about Heather. I wish she was working at Lee Manor years ago and we appreciate all she has done.

I looked at 12 nursing homes for my mom. It's gut wrenching doing these tours. I ran out of 2 places that smelled like pee, and was brought to tears by 4 and was at my wits end. Then I found Lee Manor, a privately run facility. As I toured I found out this person was here 18 years, that one for 12 years, another staffer for 24 years, this one 10 years. In my mind that said A LOT! The staff has a huge sense of pride in what they do. The place is spotless! They even have their own Maintenance Department! The pride continues even in the Laundry Department! I forgot to put labels on a few of my moms pants and went down to the Laundry Department. Man, do they have their act together down there! The wealth of knowledge continued in the administration department too! They take care of all of the Medicare/Medicaid paperwork recertifications and navigate that whole hell scape for you! I've read the negative reviews about Lee Manor. I hate that people have weaponized the trauma and emotions they are going through with their loved one and take it out on Lee Manor. Nobody wants their loved one to be in a long term care facility. Trust me when I tell you as sad as it is that my Mom is in a Long Term Facility, Lee Manor has allowed me to finally breathe. They lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders and mom is safe and well cared for. It's all done with grace and dignity. I still cry, I only have one mom, and don't want her to go but I know she is in good hands.
It’s taken 5 months to finally come around and share my experience with Lee Manor.. please don’t bring your loved ones here!! My mom was under their care and wasn’t properly treated or assessed during a fall and due to that she had internal bleeding in the head (intracranial hemorrhage) .. she had fallen overnight and I was told my the head nurse that she was assessed and that everything seemed fine/ normal when they called me early in the morning .. I didn’t think much of it since they assured me that everything seemed fine .. as the days went by she became more and more disoriented/weak.. confused - less movement and no appetite.. I urged the head doctor to have her taken to the ER! When the paramedics arrived they confirmed that her health wasn’t stable .. In the ER the doctors then told us she was suffering from internal bleeding and that’s when we learned that she wasn’t assessed correctly and was suffering from this for DAYS .. something could’ve been done - if only they would’ve called the ambulance or done a CT scan when she had fallen instead of 5 days later .. My world has changed and it’s been so different since mom passed and I only wished something else would have been done to help her - maybe things could have been different and she would still be here with us.. So please don’t let the same thing happen to your loved one.. my mom was everything to me and these past 5 months have been pure agony for my family … I’m even considering consulting a lawyer.. this isn’t right! This isn’t fair!
I wanted to share my experience as its very hard to find a trusting nursing home since covid. I was a surveyor in Illinois so know to well that the ratings that are given on google are done by angry residents or family members. My mother in-law broke her hip and she is 94 years old. We currently live in Florida and I was very worried as I don't know the nursing homes anymore. I reached out to my colleague who worked for the state of Illinois for many years and she recommended this place. I will eternally be grateful to Jay administrator and Helen Director of Nursing for the care they gave my mother in law, who is now recovering and getting back to health. I appreciate there help and rapid response to my concerns. The staff was very caring and attentive to my mother in laws needs. She was kept safe, clean and happy. Thank you and your staff for all your hard work and understanding. If I can give anyone a word of advice as a State surveyor, please if you have concerns with care or questions talk to Jay or Helen, and they will definitely address the issues quickly and they will follow up with you. The facilities can not fix problems if they are not aware of them. Use your grievance (complaint) process through the facility to ensure your love one is taken care of. I thank the staff for the outstanding care they gave my mother in law and forever will have the facility in my prayers and blessings. On behalf of our family, thank you for such wonderful care. Maggie :)
My mother in law (a Lee Manor resident) says she is so very appreciative of the wonderful staff especially Gracie and Patricia who take such good care of her every day. She also says the food service is very good and the facility is so clean. Our family is very thankful for Lee Manor!
