My mom moved into the Laurel about a year and a half ago. My siblings and I have been VERY pleased with the Laurel. Most importantly, the staff is excellent - consistently caring and kind. I have been very impressed by the way they have gotten to know my mom, for example, the activities she enjoys and is able to participate in and her odd eating habits (!). The nursing staff is wonderful and it is very comforting to have them there when my mom calls to say she is not feeling well. A few days ago, I called the nursing station at about 10:00 pm. The nurse on duty checked on my mom immediately and she mentioned in the morning how kind he was. There is an amazing array of fun things to do for seniors of varying ages and abilities. It seems that getting folks together for activities has led to residents forming friendships that lead to more fun activities, like group dinners and happy hour bourree! The other residents are also very kind and caring toward one another. They seem to look out for one another as much as the staff does. I enjoy spending time with them when I visit! The facility is nicely decorated and is kept spotless. While the rooms are small, there are many comfortable seating arrangements in the public spaces for visiting. My mom seems to enjoy the food most of the time and I certainly appreciate that the staff gives her what she asks for without making a fuss about it. Overall, we are very pleased with the Laurel. My mom seems relaxed and comfortable there. I would recommend the Laurel to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming environment for a loved one who needs some assistance.

On May 15, 2024, I was admitted to the Laurel. The admission process was very efficient. For the first 30 days in the facility, I was watched very carefully to insure my safety. At the end of that timeframe, I was placed in independent living status, which I continue to maintain. Having only lived in my own home, moving into the Laurel took an adjustment on my part. The facility staff worked very hard to help me adjust. They offered me numerous activities both in and out of the facility. I received three meals a day and snacks as requested. The food has been very good and the dining room staff and chefs are excellent. Since I no longer have the ability to drive, the facility supplies transportation to medical appointments and other activities I have requested outside the facility. Overall the staff is very caring. They administer my medications regularly and check on me several times a day. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job of keeping my room and the facility thoroughly clean. As a result of all the efforts from the Laurel team, this facility has become my home, and hopefully it will be home for a long time.
We could not ask for a better place for our mom to be. Her apartment is clean, bright & comfortable. The place is beautiful, with fresh green plants everywhere. Everyone from the kitchen staff, care partners, custodial, front desk, and the rest of the staff are just wonderful. It is truly a happy, welcoming place to be. They treat the residents like you would your own family. In the last year and 1/2 since she has lived there, she has never been treated like a number! This place is truly peace-of-mind for all of us.
Beyond impressed with the Laurel Senior Living. The staff is incredible!! They created a beautiful space for their residents to thrive and always engaging them in fun activities. I love the open atrium filled with beautiful plants and natural light. The attention to detail was not missed on any part!! We love visiting and joining all the fun events they plan for their residents.
When the Laurel opened two years ago, I was the first occupant and have had no regrets. I was in another assitant living facility for three years prior to moving to the Laurel. It is a beautiful place located in a charming and convenient area of Uptown New Orleans. The Staff including all employees are efficient, friendly, and caring. The difference in the two ownerships is incomparable. The local owner can be easily contacted whereas it is almost impossible to contact corporate headquarters. The Laurel accomodates Catholic residents. There is weekly Mass on weekends and Euchristic services on Wednesdays. There are numerous and various activities (Indoor and Outings) to please all residents. The celebrations for various occasions are very entertaining and lively. Also, the Laurel has excellent in-house physical therapists.
