My first impression of laurel circle was the location, it felt like the countryside with beautiful trees, and flowers surrounding the property. Philip was a great help finding me my dream apartment on the ground floor which allowed me to continue pursuing my love for gardening. A big plus the food is varied and excellent, the chef is very personable he converses with the residents at dinner. The staff are extremely pleasant and very welcoming. The community offers transportation, which takes you to local shops, which is very helpful while familiarizing yourself with the area. I’ve decide to come to Laurel Circle because it is a reasonable drive to my daughter & accessible to Newark airport which allows me to still travel.
My mother moved into Laurel Circle in May and I truly haven't seen her so happy since my father passed away 22 years ago. Her social life had become very limited as she was unable to drive anymore. Within the first week she had made new friends and was involved in so many of the activities they offer. Everything about her decision to move there was seamless, from meeting with Philip Decyk, selecting the apartment that was a good fit for her, to their amazing help with moving her furniture and belongings. I am there quite often and see how the staff interact with the residents. A kinder and friendlier group of people I have never met. The care and concern they show the folks living there is heartwarming to see as a daughter. I know she is safe and leading a fulfilling life having joined committees in her community. She had many choices of senior communities to choose from and is very happy she chose Laurel Circle, as are we as her family.
My mom just recently moved from Florida to Laurel Circle. They made the transition seamless. Cynthia was extremely accommodating, sympathetic and knowledgeable. She guided us every step of the way and was very quick to respond to all of our questions. I felt very comfortable approaching her with every concern whether it was relating to medical needs or apartment specifications. We experienced absolutely zero difficulties. My mother has found it easy to work with the staff. They have addressed all of her requests and always with a smile. I am so happy she has made this move and will be closer to family.
Had read some bad reviews about this place, but thought maybe they just happen to have a bad experience for that time there. But, we also had such a horrible experience at Laurel Circle. The staff was unfriendly and not accommodating. My mom suffered a fractured pelvis. They finally started some rehab after 1 week. When ever we there for a visit, she was usually drowsy, unable to respond or feed herself because of the meds they gave her. We notified management twice about ants crawling in and around her bed, on her food tray and all over the floor. The crumbs that fell around her while the staff would feed her only helped to feed the ants. They had maintenance spray the room twice, but the ants came right back. When we were finally taking her out of Laurel Circle they couldn't find her clothing. They were finally found, except for her new shoes, only after we verified with the transport company that they delivered her belongings to Laurel Circle when she was brought there. Once she was released from Laurel after 5+ weeks, the transport company was given the wrong address, so it took them 5 hours to bring her to the new place which was only 40 minutes away from Laurel. If you care about your loved ones stay away from Laurel Circle (aka Circus).
