I admitted to Langhorne Gardens after I fell at home. I lived alone with not much help, but after my fall, I needed rehab. I must say I was hesitant to coming to a nursing home because of all the things that you hear happening, but my fears were quickly put to rest my first day coming into the building. I was greeted by a staff member. Everyone was so polite. They introduced themselves and their positions in the facility. Gave me much needed information on what I should expect while I am here. Physical Therapy saw me the exact next day. They were very kind assertive but not too pushy on my recovery. The food was OK not bad at all, but my main focus was my recovery. I can get a restaurant quality meal at a restaurant once I leave here if I do what I need to do in Therapy.. If I am ever in need of rehabilitation again, I would not mind coming back to Langhorne Gardens. Everyone was very nice and I was able to return home. The discharge planner got me much needed medical equipment at home and even got me a nurse aid a few hours a week. Thank you

I was very disappointed in this facility and staff. It smelled like urine everywhere. My mom was unable to do PT. They would get very upset with her because she would not do PT. They were not kind. I felt like they were pushing things on her she was unable to do. They told her that it was because she was just laying in bed. I had to chase the nurses done for answering questions and concerns. We decided my mom needed to leave there because she seemed sick to us. It turns out when we got her to the hospital her oxygen was 82 and her right lung was 95% filled with fluid. That’s why she was unable to get up. She couldn’t breathe that’s why she couldn’t get up. The nurses gave me a hard time about wanting her transferred. If I didn’t it could have been a lot worse. The head nurse told me that chances are she would be back there. I said no she will not be back at all. On a positive note, Lily the speech therapist was excellent!!!
I can only review my personal experience so far. Number one...they keep the place clean. My wife gets clean bedding every day. They serve meals at the same time every day. The nurses and aids are nice and show respect. They have multiple activities for the residents almost every day. They have a library and a room where people can and do socialize. They have a Bible study during the week and church services on Sunday. They actually do physical therapy with the patients that need it. They make sure the patients are keeping clean or they are cleaning them if need be. Meds are administered correctly and on time I think they do a great job! This has been my observations. Thankyou to the Healthcare workers!!
DO NOT LISTEN to the good reviews. They’re mostly employees or people who’ve been encouraged to leave a positive review. They’re usually accounts with no review history! Smells bad (literally smelled like cigarette smoke and urine) and the care is nonexistent. The patient I knew had seizures because they didn’t giver her medications on time. They also left her sit in feces and urine for hours. Didn’t change her before she was transferred. The transfer had to be paid out of pocket because they wouldn’t discharge her, even though she was having multiple seizures and they knew she has a hemicraniectomy. Don’t expect much.
My mom just came home from there after a 2 week stay due to a fall. . That place should be shut down. Not checking her blood and she’s a diabetic , not answering when she rang the bell to use the bathroom, horrible food, dirty room, And crazy people in The halls at night screaming and trying to choke people. I wish I didn't even have to give it a one star. Deplorable and disgusting to say the least.
